By 2 different recruiting services as I noted above. I hope he's the next Carson Wendt or whatever but I have to see it on the field. Things are looking good to me.

I like Skylar too, but his mental toughness is not that of a champion. I'm not going to go further and bag on the kid, just stating an honest opinion.
Furthermore, everybody is all jacked up about Rubely committing, and I am too, but I'm wagering he is not just going to walk in and unseat Will Howard. Howard is under rated from the tape I've seen.

Will you explain this statement? Are 4* Pro style QBs more sought after and less common? Prior to CK, I paid very little attention to recruiting, this is an honest question.

Rubley looks D-1 ready right now in terms of his skill set. Yes, the game will speed up and D-backs will offer little room for some of the throws he's making now, but gosh, he is just so polished and throws with such accuracy and effortlessness. Howard is also good, so let the competition begin in 2022. Skylar Thompson will be QB next season, I'm sure, because he's entrenched in the system. But after he's gone, we have better choices at QB to build around IMO.
Klieman has yet to prove himself as the bedrock coach of the future, but he puts far more effort into recruiting than Snyder ever did. That's a huge plus for this program. Snyder developed a model early on that made us competitive, even very good, but he never deviated from it. Turning walk-ons and 2-star talent into productive Big 8/Big12 players and establishing tenants of character and discipline was his forte, but ultimately, it wasn't going to stand the test of time. Recruiting talent is still the lifeblood of any program.

Didn't 1 quit before the season and the other during the season?

I think so, and I don't think either one ever made an impact anywhere. Derricott was a freak, but a perfect example of why hard work, discipline, smart players, and good coaching can get you alot of wins. Talent is often selfish, lazy, and/or dumb.hilltopwildcat wrote: ↑January 2nd, 2020, 2:01 pmDidn't 1 quit before the season and the other during the season?
Sounds harsh, but true.
