just think how much crap they'd have received had they put Bill at the top of the list? the question would and will always be: of all those great coaches, how many would have gone to manhattan and hit the speed-bump?

look to Les MIles at KU as an example and a program that frankly should be easier to build.

not sure I'd put Bear over Saban. thankful they put Eddie Robinson up that list/

these are always so subjective. i mean, what was the criteria for putting lloyd carr above bill snyder?
Why is there something rather than nothing?

They had a paragraph describing their accomplishments, but I didnt want to include all of that. many of the coaches above Snyder had National Championships. There were 150 people who created this list.

KSU is so far away from when they were the worst program in the history of D1, that many forget how bad it was when he got here. That is a tribute to HCBS's accomplishments and his longevity.

Could any of the 54 ranked above Bill Snyder have saved KSU football like he did???

Barry Switzer, Tom Osbourne, & Bob Stoops would all probably say "NO".

Well, Barry did say HCBS was the "Coach of the Century"

Bill Snyder is a top 25-30 coach in my mind, simply from developing players and making the worst program in the nation a yearly top 25 contender. How many others performed "miracles"? With no tradition and no foundation, he led this program to national contention. 55th? I don't buy it. Any of those coaches inherit a program with 48 schollies and 4 Dlinemen on scholly? Hell, before the 85 rule, many on that list we're hoarding 95 scholarship players.

I'll argue it all day, everyday.
