Thanks for the great info AJcat! Have you heard anymore about Tanoa Togiai? A friend of mines kid, just played against them in the state championship, losing after Rigby went for 2 in double OT. He said the kid is a beast. I just don't see us recruiting kids from that area often.
I know he had an official visit to KSU on October 18th from the recruiting sites. I believe he is Mormon/Latter-Day Saints as some google searches have shown him on lists of LDS players, and would likely take a 2 year mission after HS, so he wouldn't join any team until 2022. That's why a team like Utah is after him, as their state has a heavy population of LDS members.
However, his dad is a former KSU player Jerry Togiai who played DL up until 2001, and he grew up watching KSU. His dad also played 1 year with the Atlanta Falcons.
Teams would still take him. Not really sure how he is counted for scholarships though. whether thats 2020 or 2022. And nothing wrong with having a 20 year old freshman, who will in theory be bigger then others in his same class due to 2 extra years of growth. Although being on a mission, he won't necessarily be building strength/skills.

Ajcat, thanks for giving updates on all those guys. I just always feel like a kid who gets a scholarship at any Big12 school other than KU probably could be a contributor at KSU. So I hate seeing them leave.
I agree that we can't let ISU start stealing any kid they want from our state. I understand kids from Wichita or further south going to OU if they get that chance. I still hate seeing Kansas kids go to OSU, and they always seem to rip one or two that we want away from us.

And I never understand why. I guess they have put more skill guys in the NFL? Stillwater is pretty much the armpit of Oklahoma. And Lubbock the same in Tx.
In a perfect world, everyone would choose hard work, morals and ethics over obscene money and fame. And everyone outside of Lowrents would be required to be a red blooded, card carrying Payhawk hater.

Some kids like to leave their home state/town and see something different, even if it's an armpit.

Oh, I'm not arguing that. Just find it interesting that many of those kids could go somewhere, anywhere, but the armpits of Okie and Tejas.

i guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I much prefer west Texas over that mega mess of DFW or Houston. I enjoyed visiting Amarillo or Lubbock in my younger days. The people were always friendly to me and the girls were pretty. Palo Duro is also pretty danged cool. The armpit of Texas is in Waco, IMO. Yet they still have little trouble attracting recruits.

Armpit of Oklahoma? Apparently you haven't spent much time in Oklahoma. That's like saying Manhattan is the armpit of Kansas. Anybody that travels and spent time in multiple towns/cities would tell you different.
