Our line play/schemes have been figured out. We need better line play and adjustments there for our run game to work. Obvious with his offense, we have to run. But outside of one special teams penalty or one underthrown ball, we win. I am not really down. Losses suck, but we have been close two weeks in a row where we made little mistakes that cost us the game. Those can be cleaned up. More concerned on the line play recently than anything else. Also, two weeks in a row where we give up big plays on third and long situations.

this thread, what a joke. two years ago it was dana dimel. last year it was sean. now it's mess. so many experts here. you all should be coaching making all those adjustments and hundreds of thousands/year to boot rather than spending your time here beating keys. i have an idea, go buy one of those cool 'cats' helmets this afternoon and save us the expert reads.

I don't think anyone on this forum professes to be an expert. You are forgetting what a sports forum is, and what it's for? It's for the fans (fanatics). It a place to express views. It's a place to vent. It's a place to play "armchair quarterback". It's a place to argue. It's a place to opine. It's a place to brag. It's a place to come and find similar views. It's a place to come and find opposing views. It should be a fun place ... like an adult sandbox. Quit taking it so seriously.

With all of the hate for messingham I figured I’d post this here- execution might be a bigger issue than messingham:

And if the offense plays well the next two games? Kinda sounds like you guys were expecting a 10 win season. This is a transition year, and they don't always go smoothly. OpenSource hit it on the head, I think. The more teams see of the Cats, the more they figure out how to stop things. There are still play makers slowed by injuries, and not a ton of depth behind them. Gotta give it some time.
I think this should be pretty standard. This is where coaches earn their money figuring what will work and what won't. J/S.

I think it's a good play. But, Mess has to take into account some other factors - we saw the "bad" OL for most of the game, WVU was getting consistent pressure and - I might be wrong on this - weren't we throwing into a decent wind at that point? A 30-yard throw into the wind isn't always a gimme.

Hindsight and all that, but we had dinked/dunked our way down the field and still had time to keep taking what WVU was giving up (especially considering how far off the DBs were playing).

Thompson waited to long to make the pass.

Well Thompson was the one on the field with the ball in his hand so he wouldve known if he can complete that pass, what bothered me was the running back that couldve had a first down at the least running across the field. I wish sky would've just taken what the defense gave him at that point, but in the heat of the moment and with the defensive pressure he obviously didn't see the rb. It's just one play of many,
