As much as I hate Texas, watching ISU lose in different ways after they yearly puff out their chest despite having never accomplished anything is great as well. They win 8 games 2 times in a row and all of a sudden they are Big 12 title contenders and have passed up everyone else.

gundy is a favorite of mine. the guy is conservative to the bone and pulls no punches on anything even though he's a little heavy on the narcissism. has the cowboys decked out in infantry dudes this weekend for the squawks.

Precisely how people felt about our fanbase in 1995ish. Just saying... That fanbase is alot like ours, only more loyal, actually.AJcat7755 wrote: ↑November 14th, 2019, 3:59 pmAs much as I hate Texas, watching ISU lose in different ways after they yearly puff out their chest despite having never accomplished anything is great as well. In 1993, K-State finished 9-2-1, 3rd in the Big 8 and 20th in the APwild@nite wrote: ↑November 14th, 2019, 4:42 pmPrecisely how people felt about our fanbase in 1995ish. Just saying... In 1994, K-State finished 9-3-0, 3rd in the Big 8 and 19th in the AP
In 1995, K-State finished 10-2-0, tied for 2nd in the Big 8 and 7th in the AP
In 2017, Iowa State finished 8-5, 4th in the Big 12 and unranked
In 2018, Iowa State finished 8-5, tied for 3rd in the Big 12 and unranked. They finally snapped their 10 game losing streak to KSU.
In 2019, Iowa State is currently 5-4, 6th in the Big 12 and unranked
It looks like ISU is on their way to another 8-5 record and unranked again and that's going 3-1 in their last 3 conference game and a bowl game, which isn't a given. ISU hasn't finished the season ranked in the AP top 25 since 2000 when they finished 25th and hit 9 wins for only the 2nd time in program history, the other time being 1906. It's likely we hear about ISU again for the 2020 season regardless of another 8 win season.

All I'm saying is that, their fanbase is excited, just like ours was. We had won a lot of games, but we had more non con games and the conference was less competitive, imo. All I'm saying is in 1994 and 1995, we hadn't ever won the conference and were a very similar program to what Iowa State has. A farm based institution in the midwest, with a fairly new coach who was turning things around and building up the fan excitement. 3rd in the Big 8 in 1994 along with playing four cupcakes was no more impressive than ISU playing Iowa non con and then a tougher in conference schedule now, whether you want to believe it or not.AJcat7755 wrote: ↑November 14th, 2019, 6:05 pmIn 1993, K-State finished 9-2-1, 3rd in the Big 8 and 20th in the AP

Below is the Big 8 in 1993,1994, 1995. Weak outside of the top 3, really. KState was playing good football and took advantage of a weak bottom half of the conference and 4 noncon games. All I'm saying is that ISU would have 9 wins with another non con game, one less conference game, and a weak bottom half. Outside of KU, the conference is so much tougher week to week. Give the ISU fans a break. I'd be excited too, if I were them.
