This stuff is completely foreign to an old guy but what the heck. Not sure I'd be tickled going all Oregon or Okie Light though.

This is a retro design and a color swap of the helmets worn in 1988. They didn't just scribble on the helmets out of the blue for this year. Had they come up with some new design that had never been used, then you would have a point, but that's not the case here. That script style seems to have been common in the 80s.jabba wrote: ↑November 15th, 2019, 6:49 amI am ALLL for some alternate unis and helmets.. this one is crap.. Thats my only problem. I mean KSU has an art department right? No we scribble some thing on a helmet which by the way looks like CATR.. I have seen some alternate helmet designs that were amazing compared to this i wish i could find them and have looked but cant locate.

Well said. The 1980s were such good years for KSU.jabba wrote: ↑November 15th, 2019, 6:49 amI am ALLL for some alternate unis and helmets.. this one is crap.. Thats my only problem. didn't we hire Bill in 1989?
(just supporting the point No8)

You are perfectly right except for the 1982 season. May not be good by today's standards, but a 6 - 5 - 1 record at that time was HUGE! Then we sucked!

Vic Koenning will be on the other sideline. We could put him at linebacker if we are looking for a throwback. We could put Blake Seiler in for the same play.

Wow - you know the interest in the program is flailing when the longest thread on a message board is about the helmet they are going to wear vs. like talking about matchups, injuries, predictions, etc

Actually, I take it that 6 pager on new helmets is a good indication that we don't have a whole lot to bitch about on the field of play and the team is in good hands.Ksustephens wrote: ↑November 16th, 2019, 11:16 amWow - you know the interest in the program is flailing when the longest thread on a message board is about the helmet they are going to wear vs. like talking about matchups, injuries, predictions, etc
My post count is way down this year just due to the fact that we aren't playing a super soft coverage with our secondary LOL (this is me making fun of myself)

I was at KSU in 88 but had stopped going to the games. I totally don't remember this helmet. Amazing what attracts recruits, but I get it. Nonetheless, you can't get anymore bland than Penn State & they always seem to get good players.
