CK said that he didn’t think the punishment was adequate. Here’s my proposal: the afflicted team (KState in this case) is allowed to pick any player from the opposing team to be ejected, in addition to the perpetrator. This would cure some of this thuggery.
So punishing an innocent player for another players dumb play is your answer? Seems ridiculous. Why not just punish the guilty party more harshly as opposed to punishing an innocent player? I don't really get this line of thinking at all.
it's a team sport, sparky. guy gets called for holding, the whole team steps back 10 yards. 15 yards and a lost player for a play that is light years above/beyond typical targeting on the field? ought to be considered.

the point, of course? that the team itself polices the behavior.
If you have to be persuaded, reminded, pressured, lied to, incentivized, coerced, bullied, socially shamed, guilt-tripped, threatened, punished and criminalized...you can be absolutely certain that what is being promoted is not in your best interest

I thought this was a team sport? Should punishment for egregious actions be limited to individuals? Not in my book.

That aside, what is there to stop a second-rate player from taking out one of our top tier players? Is it fair since it’s a player-for-player trade? And, in that case, we may lose THAT game due to the uneven trade.

The reality is that taking out Gill for 1+ games may be far worse than taking the thug out for 2 or 3 games. I think my proposal is reasonable and would achieve better results than your idea.

To each their own.

Ok. We disagree.

To me, it's not about which would get better results. It would just be a crying shame for a high character player to have to sit because of a bad choice, in the heat of competition, by a teammate. Team penalties are one thing. Disqualifying a kid who works his butt off and plays the game the right way is wrong.

Eliminate the bad eggs, not the good eggs.

A big issue with the ejection is the actual time missed. A player ejected on the first play of the game misses the entire game. A player getting ejected with 2min left will b as basically only miss 2 quarters. Same penalty, different consequences.

He knew it was a dirty hit. Why else would he put his hands up like he was guilty?

He should miss at least part of the next game, per NCAA rules, how much, I don't know.

Yep. While Gill will likely miss the entire WVA game.

If you read the comments below that clip, most of the Texas fans claim that it was a legit hit and it was Gill's fault for "not having his head on a swivel". Really classy fans, those Longhorns are.

Personal opinion, the player that causes injury to another player due to an egregious illegal hit has to sit as many games as the hurt player is out. Probably have to max it at 4 games, but i think this would sure help out. Or if player gets ejected-head coach gets ejected. How about that. Bet that would clean it up.

Was once a KSU &Razorback Fan but when they got rid of the best coach, Houston Nutt, who took them to 2 SEC Championships (only coach to do so) I put everything into KSU, even some of my players.

I can tell you from personal experience (SWC) that the entire state of TexAzz is nothing but AZZWholes--- from where is the only school to get the Death Penalty? TexAzz

Basically, from my point of view, TexAzz should be either flushed or broken up and given to New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisana because the whole state is based on psychopathy. Which explains what happened Saturday in the KSU v TexAzz game.
