Expectations

Post by KST8GR8 » November 9th, 2019, 8:50 pm

I realize that fan emotions make huge swings week by week. But I feel like this year was amazingly important for our program. KSU has been Snyder dependent for decades. CK could have folded this program. He has little playmakers, and following a legend. He comes out and takes care of our OOC, like our best teams. Goes on the road and beats an SEC team. Beats a top 5 team, and stomps KU. That is an amazing start for a first year head coach, replacing a legend. We should feel very good about where we are. We all know this team has bottom 5 talent. Amazing coaching job so far. I think we are in good hands.

I don't know about bottom 5 talent. Low recruiting class yes, but our guys are pretty good. I would put our abilities at about average. What we do not have is any exceptional top 1% players at the skill positions. I think our linemen on both sides of the ball are above average in the way they play. May not be as strong or fast as the best of the best but they play football well.

KSU has many average players, a number of quality players and several who will become spectacular.

Difference between TexAzz game and Okie-Homer game................................ 2 best RBs not able to actually play and DB who would have made a huge difference.

With this team, those three players made a large difference. When HCCK has his team on the field I totally expect games much different than what we saw today.

9-3 record is a big possibility and with an OU victory included; pretty fair job by CK and staff...

Not to mention that our wins over KU and our early season non P5 opponents were won in dominating fashion (which hasn't always been the case).

Didnt Texas have their no. 1 running back for this game? If you look at KState they were playing two undersized and relatively slow backs imo also

I think there are a few here that would complain about the way the team was holding the national championship trophy just after it was presented to us.

8-4 with a bowl game (win hopefully) beat an SEC team and a top 5 team and throttled KU.. If HCCK does that in his first year hes wildly exceeded my expectation and anyone here who said that it wouldn't before the season started is liar plain and simple. We lost yesterday, there are no moral victories here and a win there would have done alot to put us in the national spotlight. But I aint complaining about what I have seen this year so far save for some questionable play calling in some games.

ck has not 'wildly exceeded' my expectations to this point in time because i thought a bowl game was achievable. but i'm certainly happy with where this program is today. win out and, yes, they will have greatly exceeded my preseason outlook. i love this coach and his staff. gene taylor was a great get for a.d., even though i thought laird should have gotten the job. that's spilled milk now. k-state is in a very good place.
Why is there something rather than nothing?
