Re: It's Gene
Build a parking garage for those that come late and don’t tailgate. Build a tunnel to the bram from there and it will also be prime parking for basketball and free up space for those that actually tailgate.
Have you visited other stadiums? Our parking situation in among the best. Imagine a hour to just get out of other parking lot that you walked 15 minutes to. The one thing we have done well is facilities. I am just sad that Athletics is dumping Ahearn, which is going to cost the tax payers unless a donor steps up.

Why is there something rather than nothing?

Ok, its been a few years since I've been back, but isn't there still a huge field just north of the stadium that is used on gamedays? Otherwise its ag land and allows our rivals to poke fun at us for the sheep / goat smell, etc. Just expand parking there and buy more land for the goats, noone is displaced and bridge over Kimball. What am I missing?

Or why not build the practice facilities on that side of the road? Either one is a possible solution to the potential problem.TellurideCatbacker wrote: ↑October 15th, 2019, 4:35 pmOk, its been a few years since I've been back, but isn't there still a huge field just north of the stadium that is used on gamedays? ag school treats that land as sacred. my guess is there are research plots that have been in continuous production for over a century. when nbaf came, the aggies were very clear about not expanding on their land north of campus. a lot of politics at play, boys. we may think athletics can just do whatever but that is not true. there are limitations aplenty.

They haven’t maintained the building. If you look at the new plan, all of athletics is out of the building in the future. So, the bill on what to do with it falls on academics.tmcats wrote: ↑October 15th, 2019, 3:44 pmwhat do you mean about ahearn?Opensource wrote: ↑October 15th, 2019, 3:37 pmHave you visited other stadiums? you are just hilarious TM. That’s a funny joke.tmcats wrote: ↑October 14th, 2019, 10:42 amlol. it's supposed to be about the student-athletes.Number8son wrote: ↑October 14th, 2019, 10:39 am
Of course you didn't address the mathematical idea that the shortest distance between two points is a straight line. It makes perfect sense to make walk around barriers. Traffic flow should not be considered, it's about the athletic department....not the fans.
Obviously we all know that it has nothing to do with student-athletes. If it were actually about the kids, we’d probably do things like cap the coaching salaries or eliminate football entirely because of debilitating injuries, etc ...

Exactly! Those facilities already exist! Been in the practice facility.wild@nite wrote: ↑October 14th, 2019, 12:50 pmWe already have both and they don't need moved. Build it right where they are, otherwise, imo, it's a complete waste and totally unnecessary. By the way, that's always the selling point.... "competing".... We've already spent millions and if you've visited many, many other FBS facilities, we are already on par or ahead of most. Moving the practice location is going to make us more competitive? BS!!! Not buying what you're selling. It's more greed and wasted money.tmcats wrote: ↑October 14th, 2019, 11:50 aman indoor practice facility and outdoor field are a waste of money, what the hell, you don't want to compete?

Do you think we will move out of the embarrassing weakling category if we have indoor practice in a facility that is stone veneered and right next to the stadium over one that is just 100 yds away and lacking the stone accents?
