lol. it's supposed to be about the student-athletes.Number8son wrote: ↑October 14th, 2019, 10:39 amOf course you didn't address the mathematical idea that the shortest distance between two points is a straight line. It makes perfect sense to make walk around barriers. Traffic flow should not be considered, it's about the athletic department....not the fans.

Oh, I agree, I just think the east side practice facilities is a huge waste of money and totally unnecessary.KsJoey wrote: ↑October 14th, 2019, 10:13 amI think regardless of the east side practice facilities, improving parking to the north, with a bridge is something that should be donewild@nite wrote: ↑October 14th, 2019, 10:10 am
A pedestrian bridge makes the most sense of anything being discussed on here. That would fall under the category of needed and would enhance the gameday atmosphere for the fans. Having to spend more money on enhancing other parking because they remove great, traditional, tailgating space for pathetic reasoning is just asinine. A total waste of money.

an indoor practice facility and outdoor field are a waste of money, what the hell, you don't want to compete?

We already have both and they don't need moved. Build it right where they are, otherwise, imo, it's a complete waste and totally unnecessary. By the way, that's always the selling point.... "competing".... We've already spent millions and if you've visited many, many other FBS facilities, we are already on par or ahead of most. Moving the practice location is going to make us more competitive? BS!!! Not buying what you're selling. It's more greed and wasted money.tmcats wrote: ↑October 14th, 2019, 11:50 aman indoor practice facility and outdoor field are a waste of money, what the hell, you don't want to compete?

Of course it's a waste of money...So are most things on athletics.
OK, it's a waste, but not a waste...it is absolutely overkill, but if we don't keep up with the Jones's, we will be keeping up with the BearCats (I know thi is an exaggeration).
The coaches want it, the players/recruits love it. So what if a few people get displaced a little bit. KSU will still easily be in the top 10% of the country for parking. Just walking around a building (or maybe thru it on gameday) should be of little consequence if it is done right.
KSU was the little sister's of the poor forever...now our facilities compete with everyone in the country. Unfortunately, it is a waste, but they have to keep up with the arms race!

wild is a schadenfreude of the first order. either that or a sock-wearing-j'hawk, i'm not sure which. our current practice facility is a metal hut stuck behind bramlage. it is not competitive with any of the top tier schools surrounding us: nebraska, missouri, oSu.
i'd get the angst here if this was tax money or tuition but it's not. these projects are the result of smart athletic department management. the new facilities belong next to the veneer complex as planned and the sooner the better.

Oh, here we go with the name-calling because I disagree with you. Grow up man. You know damn well I'm all EMAW. Not falling for your shenanigans.tmcats wrote: ↑October 14th, 2019, 2:42 pmwild is a schadenfreude of the first order. either that or a sock-wearing-j'hawk, i'm not sure which. our practice facility is a metal hut stuck behind bramlage. it is not competitive with any of the top tier schools surrounding us: nebraska, missouri, oSu. i'd get the angst if this was tax money or tuition but it's not. these projects are the result of smart athletic department management. the new facilities belong next to the veneer complex as planned.
The people that have been parking there for years and tailgating there "belong" there. The new practice facility can be built where it is.
Again. Grow up.

Current indoor isn't great but usable. I thought they had different uses for all the buildings out there when all of the sports moved out there. The way I look at it is if the Ices, Vaniers, etc are paying most of the freight and others want to donate what the hell. Still think parking garages and the overhead walkway would be good uses of money.
I wonder if the Ag Dept is interested in selling their test plot ground and moving. I know the nubs did this although they had a WWII air base given to them to use. Seems to me like for the most part they're going to be crowded out.

They actually going to kick field goals intro the street?Hypeman wrote: ↑October 13th, 2019, 11:17 amGreed and gluttony! Students and fans last! Perhaps that attitude is why KSU is in the embarrassing weakling category as defined by the WSJ!wild@nite wrote: ↑October 13th, 2019, 9:58 am
Not threats. Facts. Displacing anyone just isn't
necessary. It just isn't. Taking more fan space and tradition so the little darlings don't have to walk an extra 300 feet to practice is ridiculous.
The athletes have everything they need. Jesus, when does it stop? It's out of control.
