How many ....

more wins this year?

It’s looking pretty bad right now with limited talent and the Paul Rhoads inspired offense. Are there any wins left on the schedule?

I chose 3 more wins. I predicted a 6-6 finish before the start of the season. I am standing by it. If we can get our issues on offense straightened out and get players healthy, we should be able to find 3 more wins and get to a bowl game.

Before the season, I made a bet with an overly optimistic KSU fan. They set the O/U at 7 wins, I took the under. Still think 6 or 7 wins is possible, but I can't see more then that yet.

Ok, this poll was started the evening we lost to Baylor, and were 3-2. It’s interesting to look back now and see that 93% of those voting (42 people) predicted 6 wins or less.

I think this shows a couple of things:

1 - most (my self included) thought it would be difficult to make a bowl
2 - no one thought 8 wins would happen.

Great turnaround by the coaches and players this year!

so, does this sort of underscore the value in not 'counting your chickens before they hatch'? or on the obverse: assuming things are worse than they are?

perhaps an opportunity to consider the wisdom of letting the season develop and play out?

Good post KSUForever.

Some sports fans have a very short memory. At the beginning of the year I would have been more than happy with
6-6 and a bowl shot. Any bowl shot. The cupboard looked pretty bare and the loss of Barnes, Zuber, graduations etc had all the earmarks
of a building year.

Now I lament the fact that we lost to Texas and W. Va. Games we should have and could have won.

Anyways, the year went beyond most people's expectations as your chart showed.

Happy, Happy, Happy.

Richard, can you imagine how 'giddy' KSU fans would be to be 10-2? then getting either 'snubbed' by not getting into a bowl we 'deserved' somehow, OR getting railed by some team was was 'as good as their record'.

we are a good 8-4 team. we are not a 'top 10' 10-2 team with stockpiles of HUGE Sunday talent who can roll most opponents and just show up to play.

wins don't come easy. nor should they.
