Running Backs
Running Backs
Every position is up for questions with K-State this coming season, but none more questionable than running back. I watched highlights of James Gilbert and Harry Trotter, and must say I am impressed. With the line coming back, I think it will be exciting to watch these 2.

i'm guessing unc transfer jordan brown sees the field a lot as well. the staff did an impressive job filling this rb hole given what was leftover from last year, i.e. nothing.
anyone know what became of alex barnes, did he make a roster?

Why is there something rather than nothing?
Yeah they did. Alex Barnes is currently leading the Titans in rushing.

KState went from like 5 total carries (whatever Trotter had at Louisville) on their roster to hundreds. The RB overhaul was as impressive as anything this staff has done. I’m excited to watch them!

He's actually not their leading pre-season rusher, nor is even projected to make their 53 man roster. Might be a practice squad guy possibly. Or lands somewhere else.Jax wrote: ↑August 21st, 2019, 11:18 amYeah they did. Alex Barnes is currently leading the Titans in rushing.
In a perfect world, everyone would choose hard work, morals and ethics over obscene money and fame. And everyone outside of Lowrents would be required to be a red blooded, card carrying Payhawk hater.

He looked like Dog$hit in his first preseason game. Looks like he had some improvement in game 2. He's still only rushed 17 times for 56 yards in 2 games, with 1 catch for 3 yards. That's 18 touches for 59 yards. He's definitely getting some work and looks. I think he will make the practice squad assuming he doesn't get picked up by someone else. Needs to continue to improve at this point though.Jax wrote: ↑August 21st, 2019, 11:18 amYeah they did. Alex Barnes is currently leading the Titans in rushing.

Actually, he's second in rushing with more carries than anyone, and dead last in ypc among anyone with a carry. He's going to have to pick it up to make the team, imo.Jax wrote: ↑August 21st, 2019, 11:18 amYeah they did. Alex Barnes is currently leading the Titans in rushing.

I still don't think Barnes made a bad decision to go pro, regardless of where he lands. He may have won some more awards, but he likely wasn't going to get much better with another season of college football and scouts could see it. He would have also added another year of wear and tear on his body. RBs are a dime a dozen in the NFL. The results he is seeing right now, is likely the same results he would have seen after another year of college football. He will land on some teams practice squad. NFL teams like cheap, young, RBs in case their other RBs get injured.
