The Big XII has released their preseason poll predictions.
Oklahoma - 761
Texas - 696
Iowa State - 589
TCU - 474
Oklahoma State - 460
Baylor - 453
Texas Tech - 281
West Virginia - 241
Kansas State - 191
Kansas - 89
Glancing at the numbers, there seems to be a clear 1-3, but 4-6 can go anyway, then 7 and 8.

Is this a sport writers poll? I hope we can do better than ninth place. Teams with new coaches at the bottom.

Polls are horsecrap ways to keep pollsters in biz. Pay no attention to them. Just cheer for the Cats.

It's the Big XII media. Heartland College Sports has their poll out as well:
Oklahoma (5)
Iowa State
Texas
TCU
Baylor
Oklahoma State
Kansas State
Texas Tech
West Virginia
Kansas

There's a lot of question marks going into this season for the Big12, in large part because of 4 new coaches. I would put the Wildcats as high as 6 and low as 9. Though, I would not be surprised to see them finish slightly higher than that. But there are just a lot of question marks for the Cats.

Yep. Too many to finish higher than 5th, imo. WR corps has lost two expected contributors, one which was our top guy, plus lack of true playmakers (I mean 60 catches type with stretch the field capabilities), an apparent, average, unproven RB corps, missing our best LB, then new specials?

I think 5-7 or 6-6 is what we are. People can play it off, but losing Zuber, Rison, and Hughes aren't losses that average teams can afford when depth is a team issue.

Keep our foot on KU's throat, find a way to get 6, and I think we should be on the right track under Klieman.

Just trying to be realistic.

I think you are ‘Dead On’, Wild@nite! As you say, lost tooo many skilled and experienced along with experienced depth at QB. Love this staff though.

O-line is likely going to be a concern as well. Risner and Beecham are pretty big holes to fill. Just continue dominating the squawkers.

I think getting any bowl bid would be a good season for HCCK and the Cats.

Bulletin board material.

Hang it up in the locker room, training room, weight room, cafeteria, all over the practice facility and have each player put it somewhere where they see it every day as they get up and go to bed.
