I'm sure. I work with young people, and unfortunately, that isn't so rare. There needs to be a lot more social media education in our society. Luckily, I didn't have to deal with it as a teenager and college student and not making the most sound decisions all of the time.

Exactly - It could be entirely made up with zero evidence and the guy will still get arrested, because when a call like that comes in, somebody is getting arrested. However, it usually won't hold up later if that's the case.DMC wrote: ↑April 21st, 2019, 9:40 pmI’ve been to court, where the victim has just bold face lied to protect the suspect. I do t know a thing about this case, but I can tell you an arrest for domestic battery, especially domestic battery doesn’t necessarily mean one is guilty. It means something had to be done for safety sake.
I'm not saying that's the case here, as I know nothing additional about the case... but yes, I've seen the exact scenario happen before with a woman retaliating for being broke up with.

Hormones do crazy things in youngsters. Hopefully, both recognize that their futures are not worth the present day anguish. Hate to see two lives destroyed. Both should be in counseling.

If I'm advising him, which I'm not, I'd advise him the STFU. Every time he opens his mouth, regardless of what comes out makes it appear that he's trying to prove his innocence. He doesn't need to do that. Make them prove he's guilty.
I think it's wrong but debatable for him to be suspended from the team for the same reason as above. Are "regular" students suspended from class or campus if they're charged with the same thing? I don't think so. I know that being a student athlete is way different than being a normal student but still, there's plenty of opportunity to make a public spectacle of throwing off the team and taking his scholarship away once due process is actually concluded and he was found guilty but until then, why is he paying a penalty for something he doesn't have to prove he didn't commit?

because there are rules and ethical standards above the law.
Why is there something rather than nothing?

Yes there are, and part of being a student athlete is learning those rules and ethical standards. Many of these kids lack parenting and positive role models, so they are having to make serious adjustments in a new set of circumstances.
That doesn't excuse beating a girl, IF, he did it, but you guys crucifying him before the facts come out most likely have some bones in your closet.
Even he's not guilty , the kid needs more education and support. If he is guilty, then he needs to pay the price. Just pathetic that he's already guilty to some like this.... ("Don’t need a “Bad Moon” on the team. I’d rather lose than have this guy representing KSU")...

Rison is not suspended from school. In fact, he is still expected to attend class and keep up his grades in case he were to rejoin the team. Currently, his scholarship has not been taken away either so he is still gaining the benefit of being on the team without being with the team.KSURFC8 wrote: ↑April 22nd, 2019, 12:57 pmIf I'm advising him, which I'm not, I'd advise him the STFU. He is only suspended from the football team. "Regular" students would also have any of their extra curricular activities in jeopardy if under the same allegations for example greek life members would be removed from positions of power. Not to mention that people can be suspended from real paying jobs while under investigation, depending on the job.
Rison is not some young kid from low circumstances and has had plenty of education and support. If he doesn’t know standards of behavior by now, particularly today’s world, he doesn’t belong on the team
