I was surprised when I saw the headline, but after reading the article, it makes more sense. It's a bummer losing a promising young coach, but he has to do what's best for him and his family. Good luck to Seiler at WVU.

Hopefully this isn't tied to the new DC hire, as the timing would indicate! New hire is a bit of a 'Red Neck' and his comments, like going out to 'kill stuff', aren't real appropriate in TODAYS world.

I think it may be more about the timing of WVU's new coach and DC, but who knows?

Edit: An article on one of the other sites brought up a good point. With the hiring of Hazelton, Seiler has now been passed over twice for DC so that may have also played into his decision to leave. Again, who knows? I imagine we will learn more in the coming days.

Thank you Blake Seiler for your playing and coaching efforts at K-State. Please use this opportunity to broaden your skills. It is just one more step for you to become a very successful head coach.

blake is a high character guy and big loss for k-state. on the other hand, we have often said it would be good for these k-state guys to get out of here and learn under other systems in other places. he'll do well wherever he goes. makes me recall joe bob down at oSu.

The other variable here is it mentions his wife is from the east so there is that to this story.

Yeah she is a U. Va. grad, gives good plausible deniability for "family reasons" being passed over twice is much more likely the reason.
