Time to exit this place. The constant sparring when I have to defend a hall of Fame coach is too much. Now, after you (people that were so adament about getting rid of Coach) guys got your way, it continues with cheap shots at Coach and his son.

I joined this board to discuss the school I ha e followed for over 60 years. It turned into an ugly exchange between myself and people intent on ridding the program with the Snyder signature.

Some very hypocrital signs in this fan base. Ranting and raving over the alleged unethical behavior of Frank Martin and signing off A OK with the hiring of Van Malone on the new football staff.

Never thought I would see Bill Snyder being the enemy of so called KSU fans, amazing and sad.

Sorry to hear that, Oscar. I don't post much because everything on this board is just opinion and none of us actually knows more than any of the other posters here-- so I don't see much point in offering my input.

I have several brothers who have come to hate Snyder these past few years and everything he represented at K-State. They all have more football expertise than I do. They've played college football and one was a coach.

There were many times over the past few years when I was very frustrated with Coach Snyder and actually do believe that his priorities were not always to "win the game". But, I have always seen his accomplishments in a different light.

I grew up in a small town in Western Kansas. We played 1-A football and only had 18 kids out for the sport my senior year. We played 7 other 1-A opponents and 2 2-A opponents. We didn't play Dodge City, Liberal or any of the Wichita teams. They'd have killed us.

With the 2 star players and walk-ons Snyder put on the field against the 4 and 5 star players he faced most Saturdays, he was coaching a 1-A team against 4 and 5 star teams almost every week. And he figured out a way, with mentality, emotion and strategy to beat the sons-a-bitches over and over again. Our opponents called him the Wizard because, to them, there was no way he could continually beat teams with so much more talent than his unheralded walk ons.

If he'd have just lined up and played Oklahoma, Texas, Nebraska, Colorado, Texas A&M, etc. at "their game", he would have lasted two years and we'd still be waiting for K-State's second ever bowl game. Snyder became the master of football chess. I doubt if any other coach will ever be able to pull that off at K-State.

Athlon's is out with the BIG 12 predictions for next season. We're 9th. I hope our new coach has some solid magic in his satchel for the coming year.

Just "good football" won't win us many games.

Way to make it all about you.

Bill Snyder is not an enemy, just not Jesus Christ. Good god. Drama much? Bye

For what it is worth, I agree with you.

While change was inevitable, I would have left it up to HCBS to determine how long he wanted to coach. Quite frankly, I do not see any coach coming in that will equal his record of 7-8 win seasons (despite what he did last year). Had it been handled correctly, ADGT should have either allowed FHCBS to retire when he desired... or informed him before the season that this last year would be his last season... without signing him to another 5 year contract.

The only thing that interests me at this point is whether Klieman will win as many games as R. Prince.

Enjoy the rest of the winter and KSU sports. I've left this board a time or two, but I came back for the verbal sparring, not because I thought anyone was going to change anyone's mind on any subject -- Coach Snyder included.

I respect the man and what he did to build football at K-State. I saw the bad years. I was a freshman in 81. But we seriously are beyond those days and need to get over the following two sentiments. 1. Manhattan is the hardest place in the country to recruit to. --- BS direct flights from chicago and dallas. Lots of worse places. 2. Only Bill can win in Manhattan. Again Coaches win in Stillwater, coaches win in Ames, hell a coach has won in lawrence. Other coaches can and will win in Manhattan. As for the original poster's good bye cruel world post. Drama. If you don't like it leave, leave quietly. Posts like this are just drama

My personal recommendation for his new screen name would be Elmo, or maybe Big Bird. Elmo would be a good sock name.

Win the dang day!
