If, hopefully, he stays healthy. I worry about his concussion history.

You have to really want out of a program to transfer to the worst team in FBS located in beautiful El Paso, TX.
Win the dang day!

I think he just wants to start. That's a good place to go. What other FBS school is he going to walk into with 1 year left and start? Love Alex, but he's not a very good QB.

I would agree. He wants to go play and not watch his last season from the bench. I can appreciate that. Any other position you don’t have to be the #1 to get on the field every game.

And I guess with UTEP you can look at it as they have no where to go but up. I hope he has school record breaking numbers and really enjoys himself.

interestingly, ryan willis was recruited by ku out of bishop miege when alex came to k-state. willis ended up at virginia tech as a starter, and now delton is off to utep. you just never know what will become of these youngsters when they sign up. :|
Why is there something rather than nothing?

I hope he took advantage of his free education and got a degree he can actually use/gain employment. UTEP must have been his only option. UTEP. Think you are going places out of UTEP? Nope. Going to a shitty team so you can play.........got it.
Don't get me wrong. Loved what the young man did for K-State in his years. And I don't blame him for going elsewhere if he felt he wasn't going to get reps. But let's get real here. Young man is not NFL material. Might catch on with a CFL team for short stint. But going to friggin' UTEP ain't going to springboard him to anywhere.
Tough to make an assessment that UTEP is now better because of one guy. Did their OL get better? No. WR/RB all of sudden improve? No. It's UTEP. Ever been to El Paso Tx? It's more of an armpit than Lubbock.
Best of luck to him. But this move is a head scratcher for me.
In a perfect world, everyone would choose hard work, morals and ethics over obscene money and fame. And everyone outside of Lowrents would be required to be a red blooded, card carrying Payhawk hater.
