The first standard of success that has to be met is beating KU.
Old Grasseater aka Miles will make KU better, but I think the hole is too deep at KU for a fast turnaround . Maybe in 3 years, KU will be competitive.

KSU is in a better position. KU still has a steep climb and I'm not convinced Les Miles is the man to make that climb. I think there is reason to respect KU under Les Miles. Should we fear them? Absolutely not. Coach Kli has the right overall approach - win the war in the trenches with bigger, stronger, and more physical "bullies" along both lines of scrimmage. Winning the line of scrimmage makes everything else in the game easier.

I wish I was that confident. We came frightfully close to losing to KU this year, at home. I'm not sure Miles is the answer there either but he is better than Beaty. KU does have some athletes over there, if Miles can get more out of them and not make stupid mistakes like they did in that game it could end differently, and it's in Lawrence.

I actually think Mike's will get less out of them. They played hard for Beatty, especially this year trying to save his job. They are losing 3 really good defensive players who kept them in games this year. A new juco QB is a question mark always, and Pookah has already found trouble. They might get us once in 5 years because of talent upgrade, but over the long haul, I think we have the better guy.ksuaggrad wrote: ↑December 13th, 2018, 12:58 amI wish I was that confident. KSU is in a much better position. A year from now, Miles will have coached KU through another losing season, while still trying to recruit players to the worst football program of the past decade, which has arguable the worst stadium/facilities in P5. I think he's an upgrade over Beatty, but by how much? Probably a step up from what we saw from KU this year, but not a lot. I don't see them having a winning record anytime soon. I don't see Miles being in Lawrence for 5 years either.

Among the P5 conference programs, I would say that Illinois, Oregon State, and Rutgers are equal to/worse than Kansas.
I know that is not saying much.

Les always liked to eat some of the grass on the sideline at each field. I think that Dos Equis commercial hints on that. I look for KSU to hold serve and begin separation again. The more I read on Klieman and the team reception the more optimistic I become. Hope it isnt dashed. Like football 2018 and basketball is trying to do.
