Recruiting Thread
Re: Recruiting Thread
Hey ajc, saw an article yesterday talking about Danielsen Ike and how the changes have really caused K-State to jump high on his list. Have you heard anything about this? Would be a huge in-state win for the new staff.

Word is that he verbally/unofficially committed to OU back when he met with Riley. Riley had a tweet afterwards that he used when they get commitments, and no other players were committed that day. It's not like he was using his last visits to check out a beach at K-State so he is considering them, but it would be a huge win to get him to flip from OU.

Another name to keep an eye on, Blue Valley North, and Michigan commit Amauri Pesek-Hickson seems to have been overrecruited. The staff told him to reclassify because they no longer had a scholarship, and KSU staff has reached out and had an in-home visit and will have a KSU visit soon. Would be another really nice pickup if Klieman could get him signed! Would be the 3rd-4th highest rated recruit as it stands.

It's looking more and more likely Potter is gone to either Tech or KU.
K-State has 3 spots left with Potter gone. The targets as of now are:
Matthew Pola-Mao - DT - Word is he already committed
Kenyon Reed - CB - It's down to UCLA or K-State https://247sports.com/Player/Kenyon-Reed-46058980/
Danielson Ike - OT - K-State is trying to steal him from OU
If they miss on either or both of the 2 that are undecided, they could go to Pesek-Hickson, give a scholarship to a current walkon (Gill, Burns), or maybe they have another trick up their sleeve.
If K-State get's the top 2 and either gets Ike or Pesek-Hickson, the class will be ranked 51st. For comparison, Iowa State class is ranked 48th, West Virginia is 49th, Tech is 63rd (will go up) and KU is 100 (probably end up in the 80s).
On the PWO side, K-State picked up CB Ben Driver from Salina Central. https://twitter.com/BenBkd20
Side note, if K-State gets Reed, again credit new coach Mike Tuiasosopo for opening up the West Coast. If they can pull a kid out of CA, away from local UCLA, that is a good thing to see.

Kenyon Reed choose K-State over UCLA
Ike sounds like he might go to SMU
Potter has removed K-State commit from this twitter profile, thinking it's Tech
Velton Gardner, the one time K-State commit, who then committed to Tech now has committed to KU.

Potter showed up to the ceremony in a K-State hoodie, and he picks KU. That is going to make a lot of friends over the next 4-5 years.

I sounds like ku closed out pretty well today. I’m happy with what Klieman has done so far, it’ll be interesting to see what he can do with a full year to recruit.

Word was KU didn't have that many scholarships to give so it's confusing on what is going on there. Maybe they got an exception to add more to the class, they are cutting existing players scholarship players, using blue shirts, or the offers are for PWO. Their class lists 17, but thought they only had 13-15 open.powercat5000 wrote: ↑February 6th, 2019, 12:31 pmI sounds like ku closed out pretty well today. OSU will take him. This kid is going to be special, I think.
