I remember that icy cold Cotton Bowl we played Tennessee. That Snyder coached squad just outplayed Phil Fulmer's Volunteers that day. It wasn't really close.
I also remember a heartbreaking loss to BYU in the Cotton Bowl a few years prior to that. Hopefully, we exact some revenge tonight....
I was at both those games. Got into Dallas the night before the Tenn game and the roads were an icy nightmare.

1. #6 tennessee 25 #15 oklahoma 15 - it was actually closer than i thought it would be;
2. #7 missouri 30 vandy 27 OT - mizzou is a fraud top ten program but their schedule sucks just as hard;
3. #18 michigan 27 #11 usc 24 - suspect this is a precursor to what's coming for former p12 teams playing in b10;
4. #16 lsu 34 ucla 17 - sec rules even though coach kelly is one of the most unlikable in the game;
5. #19 louisville 31 georgia tech 19 - excellent coaching at 'the ville' and tech just not what we thought beating hopeless fsu;
6. #21 clemson 59 nc state 35 - maybe dabo has his tigers back but former meige coach doesn't;
7. buffalo 23 #23 northern illinois 20 - proving the huskies win over notre dame meant what, idk?
8. #25 aTm 26 bowling green 20 - collin klein has his hands full in college station;
9. #8 miami 50 usf 15 -caines 28-0 in the second half;
10. #24 illinois 31 #22 nebraska 24 - bert knows b10 ball; slobber-knocker football, bully balls the corn.

The "real" deals: Tenn and Miami. I'd pick Miami if they played though.
Way overrated: Mizzou and TAMU. TAMU looks like a really stale team that is average at best. I do think Bowling Green is a pretty good MAC team.
LSU. Illinois and Clemson are yet to be determined. I think all 3 are good, but nothing to brag about.
Michigan is a tough, grind it out team with absolutely no passing attack... Terrible.

VT is BYU ing Miami…… punch counter punch in Miamis house to boot… not as lopsided as our implosion but they are really giving Miami the fits..

I thought VT had the Canes on the ropes too. But Miami came back at the end of the game to win 38-34.

1. No. 4 Alabama 41, No. 2 Georgia 34 - this was a crazy arse game that thrilled the locals, i'm sure;
2. Kentucky 20, No. 6 Ole Miss 17 - charmin soft schedules did not benefit the rebs when they got punched in the mouth;
3. No. 9 Penn State 21, No. 19 Illinois 7 - illini just don't have enough firepower to compete with the league's elite, i.e. psu not nebraska;
4. No. 12 Michigan 27, Minnesota 24 - blue benefiting from b10 schedule lameness - way overrated;
5. No. 13 USC 38, Wisconsin 21 - my sense is that coach fickell is better suited for a cincy than a power program and not sure why?
6. No. 16 Notre Dame 31, No. 15 Louisville 24 - the ville has a good program and excellent coach, jeff brohm, so this irish win should not be discounted;
7. No. 21 Oklahoma 27, Auburn 21 - this win keeps the grim reaper at bay for coach venables, at least a week - texas next up :roll: ;
8. No. 24 Texas A&M 21, Arkansas 17 - i really like mike elko and of course collin klein - please whip missouri next weekend;
9. No. 25 Boise State 45, Washington State 24 - broncos maybe the cfp g5 representative - earlier had oregon on the ropes;
10. No. 7 Miami 38, V'Tech 34 - already discussed but cam ward is the real deal for the canes.

#4 Blue benefitted from a bad call on the onside kick Minnesota recovered as well. That recovery basically put Minn in fg range, but they were called offsides. Thus ending the game.

what an absolute bloodbath day on the grid. i sense this is showing the effects of nil and the portal. today, every team can buy players reserved for the cheaters in days gone bye.

1. #8 miami 39 cal 38 - gameday almost brought a huge upset on the communist's favorite campus;
2. uw 27 #10 michigan 17 - the wolves were one of the blue bloods who were grossly overrated on name rather than performance;
3. arky 17 #4 tennessee 14 - anyone not surprised by this outcome hasn't been paying attention;
4. minnesota 24 #11 usc 17 - see michigan comments above;
5. #15 clemson 29 fsu 13 - maybe this is karma delivery for all the adjectives noles have used on the league and cfp?
6. vandy 40 #1 bama 35 - i suspect this is jerry kill's workings as much as anything along with his nmsu qb now playing in nashville;
7. #3 ohio state 35 iowa 7 - will howard delivering on his promise - maybe the nation's #1 team, certainly payroll;
8. #25 aTm 41 #9 missouri 10 - early games foreshadowed this eventual beatdown - collin klein must have thoroughly enjoyed retribution;
9. #23 indiana 41 northwestern 24 - it's been a few decades since iu was this good - but do consider the conference;
10. nebraska 14 rutgers 7 - another b10 snooze fest in lincoln.

ps: given the outcomes i'm glad our cats took the day off. this year is going to be messy interesting.
