Was hoping Okie State would give Utah a rude welcome to the Big XII, but so far they look soft. Offense is pretty lackluster, and defense is soft. Watched their game against Arkansas, too, and they were lucky to win that, as the Hogs outplayed them most of the day. Currently engaged in dualling turnovers as the half winds down. Utes up by 7.

Coach Gundy needs to find himself a better QB. I really want OK St to win for multiple reasons.CatinOK wrote: ↑September 21st, 2024, 4:36 pmWas hoping Okie State would give Utah a rude welcome to the Big XII, but so far they look soft. Thought KU had WVU on the ropes, but Greene had some timely TD passes in the 4th to get win for the Mounaineers.

From what I’ve seen of Utah is we have a new western version of an Oklahoma trash talkers….. A player taunting the crowd along with a flipping the bird sealed it for me. I’m pretty sure I don’t like them, no I’m sure I don’t like them Tombstone reference….
Okie State made a valiant attempt at a comeback, but you can't start playing with 5 minutes left in the game and down 19 points. My assessment is that OSU made Utah look better than they probably are. With Rising it may be different, but the OSU defense was a sieve all day. I think Utah was 4/5 on 4th downs, and the QB ran for most of them - and some weren't short yardage. Their offense struggled, but Utah's D might be just that good. If KSU chokes against the Pokes next weekend I'll be sorely disappointed in the Wildcats. They should roll the Pokes with that defense, DJ should have a track meet on the ground.
I'm with Ksuminnesotacat on Utah: I'm sure I don't like them.

The 'Pokes D seemingly was on the field for the entire game! Utah's D is pretty dang good and, even without Cam Rising, they moved the ball effectively. I really expected more from the 'Pokes in this one, especially given their home winning streak . . .
