47,928 according to the box score. I don't know if this is accurate or not.

this hawker may be a past player or coach. he gives some thoughtful comments on what has happened downriver. the fall of jalon daniels has been interesting to watch unfold. the much ballyhooed qb was 2023 b12 preseason poy. and this year was on the ap's preseason comeback player of the year list. today, their fans are squawking for his walk-on replacement.
i remember first seeing daniels as a les miles' freshman run around bsfs in a loss. but you could see then that he was a hell of an athlete. tormented by injuries, he's regressed over the years. and trading o'coordinator andy kotelnicki for jeff grimes - a move i didn't understand from the get go - probably has exacerbated the daniels' problem.

I wish I had the time to break film down, I just don't, currently.
From what I saw of the Illinois and West Virginia games, I saw guys getting open in pass routes and JD is just missing the open reads. He's playing extremely tight and if I had to guess, he's playing with a combination of a few different things in mind: 1. he's scared to get hurt again, 2. he feels an immense amount of pressure to perform, and 3. he has been able to make incredible plays in the past and is trying to force those things. The fall of Jalon Daniels has been tragic to behold, because even a return to normal levels of play would have been understandable, and I don't think anyone could have foreseen him just absolutely falling to pieces like he has. I'd wager the sports world has never seen someone disintegrate like we've seen JD fall apart.
And then, whatever has zapped his mojo has spread to the team at large and negative momentum has snowballed to the point where it seems inevitable. The team really needs some sort of jolt or shock to the system, and unfortunately I think the only things that can make that happen are to replace either JD or Grimes or perhaps both.
From what I've seen, our play in the trenches has absolutely been good enough to at least win a few of these losses, but the pass rush needs to be more productive.

KU has not been blown out. This is still a dangerous squad at 1-4. They have @ASU, Houston, @KSU, ISU, @BYU, and Colorado. They will not go 5-2 against that schedule.
Their Bowl game for the season will be in Manhattan, Kansas. They will put everything into this game.
I still question if the KU Athletic Department is financially unstable long term.
