The Herd is holding their own.

WH is human, he has to be smiling (not laughing) a little bit with the results last night. He was the version or Utah's Rising on our squad, and would have been jubilant to have played another year at K-State. By his own statement, in his post season interviews with Coach K, he was told that the plan all along was for Avery to take over and that he was expected to turn pro anyway. In the old world of college football, Avery would have been red shirted and Will's apprentice one more year; but I, like all other fans, was enamored with the TT game and our new 'johnny football'.

Yes, from what I have heard from some people close to the program Will would have really liked to have ended his career here, but fate seemed to intervene. He walked into probably the easiest job in CFB and he earned it with his experience here being the big factor. He has thrived (so far) and I am really happy for him. Kid is an exceptional leader with ice in his veins.

Just an afterthought about what I saw on the Internet today...... Chip Kelly jokingly said he would like to see Will complete all of his passes sometime this year. He has been pretty accurate so far this year completing almost 70% of his passes. The next 2 games will show how much he has improved, Iowa and Oregon. All I know is he is battle hardened with his experience as our QB.

I never thought Will Howard had the arm strength or accuracy to be an NFL QB. But he is throwing darts into small openings today against Iowa.

He looks like an NFL QB at least today.

Man did Will.look good today, but he has been good all year. That freshman receiver is otherworldly.

Good for Will.

Probably the best thing Ohio State did was make Howard compete for the starting role. Sounds like he worked hard in the off season to get better and beat out a phenomenon. He has had to compete his whole college career to get to start. This resilience may be more important than anything else in him having an NFL career. The question is is Ohio State talent around him making him look good or is his talent making Ohio State look good?

It's easy to look against teams that suck. And when you have NFL talent at WR. Which they have. And they do. I am sure he's much more comfortable back there knowing that every WR at his disposal will get open, AND catch the ball pretty much no matter where he throws it. Good for him. Wish him the best. But I will never root for that stuck up program. And they have yet to play a team that has a pulse. So.......we'll see.
In a perfect world, everyone would choose hard work, morals and ethics over obscene money and fame. And everyone outside of Lowrents would be required to be a red blooded, card carrying Payhawk hater.

I think it is a combination of both...... The talent around him is surreal but I noticed he is pretty darn accurate and in the 4 years he was here I never realized he was that fast. Not quick, but fast. He is the absolute perfect fit for that team.
