Will is a pretty good QB, but not an elite QB. He may be on par with a Brock Purdy or Carson Wentz-type player. He has a pretty good arm (I'll give him a pass last night due to the icy conditions) and throws a nice ball most of the time. But he tends to force things into tight coverage which works sometimes & sometimes doesn't. He might be a late round pick or likely UFA should he try and go to the NFL.

Listen to his postgame comments and ask yourself if that sounds like a guy looking to enter the transfer portal.

I could see Will testing the NFL waters and then coming back next season as a graduate assistant coach. I assume he will have his degree at the end of the school year and he could be close to his brother who is coming in next season.

Going to a program that hasn't been bowling in like 7 years? Pretty sure Will is smarter than that.farrout10 wrote: ↑November 26th, 2023, 12:23 pmHusker Board has several touting this as a rumor in Lincoln

Tbones I listened to it and you’re right, nothing to indicate he would be leaving but also nothing said that he’ll definitely look to return. I’m sure as they begin to go through bowl prep, and with how Avery is involved in ii, that Will will be doing some deep thinking, trying to figure out what would be the best decision for him and the team, as I do believe the kid is very unselfish and part of his love for being a Wildcat would also mean stepping aside if that’s truly what he feels is best. But it is hard to see him giving way to Avery and still coming back as the backup. Will has hopes and dreams as well and should pursue those. I don’t think his draft stock is very high at all but another season may help to increase that. But whether that will be at KSU or elsewhere remains to be seen. I wish him well with whatever that decision is as he’s been very class as a Cat and has been thrown into some tough situations during his time in Manhattan.

Unfortunately, I don't believe college FB Players have the same rights to test the pro-ranks. In BB, Players can declare for the draft and receive an evaluation on their skill level for NBA potential. As long as they don't hire an agent they can return to their team. Major college football players don't have this option, unless something changed.

I was thinking more along the lines of Will becoming an offensive GA on Klieman's staff rather than return as our QB. But I think he would probably test the waters in the NFL first. He might be able to latch on with a team, even if he is not drafted.KSUbetcha wrote: ↑November 26th, 2023, 3:20 pmUnfortunately, I don't believe college FB Players have the same rights to test the pro-ranks. The only way I see Will entering the portal is if a P5 quality team is in bad shape with respect to the QB spot AND there is a boatload of NIL money they throw at him. My bet is, Will goes to the NFL combine and looks to get drafted in the later rounds or as an UFA. If that doesn't work out, come back to KSU as a GA on Kliemans staff.
