WH is human, he has to be smiling (not laughing) a little bit with the results last night. He was the version or Utah's Rising on our squad, and would have been jubilant to have played another year at K-State. By his own statement, in his post season interviews with Coach K, he was told that the plan all along was for Avery to take over and that he was expected to turn pro anyway. In the old world of college football, Avery would have been red shirted and Will's apprentice one more year; but I, like all other fans, was enamored with the TT game and our new 'johnny football'.

Yes, from what I have heard from some people close to the program Will would have really liked to have ended his career here, but fate seemed to intervene. He walked into probably the easiest job in CFB and he earned it with his experience here being the big factor. He has thrived (so far) and I am really happy for him. Kid is an exceptional leader with ice in his veins.

Just an afterthought about what I saw on the Internet today...... Chip Kelly jokingly said he would like to see Will complete all of his passes sometime this year. He has been pretty accurate so far this year completing almost 70% of his passes. The next 2 games will show how much he has improved, Iowa and Oregon. All I know is he is battle hardened with his experience as our QB.
