The biased BCS had nothing to do with K-State wetting the bed against A&M in '98.kstfan88 wrote: ↑November 28th, 2023, 12:03 pmWill Howard was so bad in the OSU game that it was embarrassing. Kavanaugh, Ell Roberson, and Collin Klein all played either before social media even existed or was as prevalent. And all led their teams to great seasons their final year of college. The biased BCS system was what was holding back top ranked K-State teams. You cannot make that argument for an 8-4 team that just lost to a bad Iowa State team at home and who's only win against a good Big 12 opponent was a Kansas team starting a 3rd stringer at QB.ColoradoCat wrote: ↑November 28th, 2023, 8:47 am
Again, OSU Will played poorly, but the way the fans treated him was horrible. Brian Kavanaugh, Ell Roberson, Collin Klein, all had poor games. Heck, even Bishop fumbled in the biggest game that would have sent KSU to the NC game, and they were not treated as poorly as Howard was by the fanbase.
Defense has been a major issue as well that people don't point out as much as they should, but the schedule was set up for a 10 regular win season. You have got to convert in crunchtime if you have possession of the ball. 9-3 with a win over ND in a bowl would have been a good outcome despite some tough losses, but now its likely time to face a mediocre A&M team while missing a lot of players. And I still don't think there has been really poor treatment of Howard aside from the increasing number of calls earlier in the season for Avery to take over.
Offensive inconsistencies are on Collin Klein or Will, or both!

You know exactly what I'm talking about and that's about how a 11-1 team that was #3 in the BCS rankings despite the loss should be playing in a BCS bowl even if they gave away a chance to play in the title game. Not delegated to the Alamo bowl. This year's team is finishing outside the top 25 for the regular season.

i'm sorry but this just hits me as one of the funniest self-inflicted put downs of the year. all the dimwit bombast here about inconsistencies of collin klein's offensive mind only to lose him after just a year to aggy bankrolls. the irony is deeper than tuttle creek, maybe the pacific ocean.
