Former Alabama head coach Nick Saban: "You're going to create a caste system where the rich will get richer and the poor get poorer, and eventually the fans will look at it like, 'I really don't want to watch the game.'"

I think we are already there with many fans. Alabama with it's roster of 5 and 4 star talent has been a big part of this. Maybe Saban feels he will be out recruited in the future by schools with more money than Bama.

Radio host Greg Swaim, who correctly called Washington and Oregon joining the Big Ten, has a new prediction: FSU, Clemson, OK State, K-State, and Texas Tech joining the SEC, and Kansas, Notre Dame, UNC, and Virginia joining the B1G.

"If the so-called 'Super Conferences' begin poaching the Big12 and ACC, it's (Kansas football) to the B1G along with Notre Dame, UNC, and UVA, while FSU, Clemson, OK State, K-State, and Texas Tech to the SEC," Swaim wrote. "There will be other B12 and ACC school poaches as well, but at this time please, no wagering!"

We’ve been reading for a while now that the big wanted Virginia and North Carolina. And the sec wanted FSU and Clemson. By including us, OSU, and TT it would appear the sec is going for schools that prioritize Football and have passionate support.
What’s interesting to me is that Miami, Iowa State, Duke, NC State are left out.
I realize this is just some guy putting stuff out there and it’s not necessarily what the sec wants. But there must be a perception out there that we are a good football school. And if so, I’ll take it.

It's cool that we are being considered for P2 expansion, but my concern is that the big boys will eventually demand unequal revenue sharing so that we are really no better off financially in the SEC than we would have been if we had just stayed in the Big 12. We would also be more competitive in the Big 12.

Nick Saban's quote from above is spot on.

This is why Big 12 Commissioner Yormark has to strike first and grab teams from the ACC and potentially the SEC/B1G. We need to add NC State, Virginia, Arkansas, South Carolina, ATM, Missouri, and possibly other schools to expand the Big 12 this year and play next year. If the Big 12 and the ACC can form a coalition agreement, both conferences will be eliminated.

I hate to bring you back to reality, but there is no striking/poaching/grabbing if ESPN/FOX/CBS/NBC does not give its blessing and cash.

I find it incredibly ironic that Saban would complain about other teams paying players. To me, NIL threatens Alabama's and the SEC's supposed dominance with parity. Who in the SEC cannot lose to Vandy without an earthquake hitting the southeast? I might be alone in all of this, but I take whatever Saban says with a grain of salt. That business about developing players? Please.

I am not defending NIL. Just pointing out the irony that Saban would feel threatened by teams they traditionally look down their noses to. How dare anyone else upset that apple cart.
