wefald actually said negative things about the west stadium center. but that was late in his life. bill would not give currie credit for anything. he really didn't care for the upstart a.d. with all the big ideas about how things should change. some of that related originally to 'compliance' issues between them. and i believe bill knew currie was hunting his successor.

Care to elaborate on the compliance issue TM? I can't picture Bill Snyder doing anything other than by the book. At least not during the second go round.

As I remember it, the compliance issues related more to Frank Martin, but AD Currie was "by the book" on NCAA compliance so maybe Currie wanted to make sure Bill was following the rules, too.

tmcats is right about the relationship between Currie and Snyder. It was very apparent in Coach Snyder's recent book ("My Football Life and the Rest of the Story") how Bill felt about AD Currie.

where the compliance office was to be located became a boiling point.

by the way, i thought this video was a fun watch. not professional but a genuine and interesting perspective from the poke fan.

I do not hear very many people use the thoughts of Bill Snyder to recruit/sell ALL of KSU Sports. Snyder's main priority when the new west side Press Box was built was to get the Athlete's Cafeteria in one spot. The time efficiency of the KSU Sports Complex for student athletes has to be one of the best of any P5 institution.

Now with the new VB facility all KSU sports have practice, dining, and study facilities within 10 minute walking distance.

It is a very efficient complex.
snyder wanted the cafeteria but was not particularly supportive of the overall scope or at a minimum never gave much if any credit to those who put it together in his name.
Snyder understood and prioritized "Time Management". Go to other campuses and you will see athletic facilities spewed all over the landscape. KSU should make our compact complex a selling point for recruiting.

And, I'll bet we do use that fact to our advantage in recruiting.

When AD Currie brought in Jerry Kill and gave him some goofy title to oversee/advise on the KSU Football Program it showed what type of manager Currie really is.

I defended Currie in the Frank Martin debacle but am very glad we now have Gene Taylor. He seems to be doing an outstanding job on all fronts.

I don't know about all the fronts, but at least the money making fronts. We have the worst womens basketball and soccer coaches in the league, but yes Klieman and Tang appear to be homeruns.

I thought the soccer coach was making good advancement with our team since he started from scratch, but I don't follow soccer closely.

Mittie -- bad coach -- I'll agree.
