Lots of interesting comments. I agree with many that say it just really doesn’t seem to make a lot of sense. Can they really make more money? Huge difference making money? OU would no longer be the big fish in the smaller pond and have a much harder time making the playoff. UT has been struggling, so this would possibly just push them down the ladder that much farther.

Maybe someone just stirring the pot? Maybe someone from OU or UT thinking it may cause enough panic by the rest to take a smaller piece of the pie and allow one or both of them a larger piece so it stays intact?

But with the way college sports are going I’m not sure I really care as much. All the social justice/ political agendas, kids already getting full tuition, very nice living conditions, meal plans and still get some type of stipend now possibly getting big $$. It’s really taken sports out of it to a great extent and made it less fun, entertaining and enjoyable for the fan. But that’s just my two cents.

If it happens, it happens. I just hope that if KSU if left out of a P5 conference, they at least end up with a few of the remaining Big 12 in the AAC. It won't be a P5, but it's best of the G5. MW or CUSA or MAC would all be much worse landing spots.

West:
KSU
ISU
TCU
BU
TTU
Houston
Tulsa
SMU

East:
Cincinnati
Memphis
Navy
East Carolina
South Florida
UCF
Tulane
Temple

I don’t think the Sec would get 3/4 of the votes to allow Texas in. I also think Texas will go independent eventually.

Not being P5 is definitely a depressing thought, especially if KU somehow stayed P5 through it all.(don’t see Ku/ksu in different conferences though.)

It isnt a guarantee anyone other than Texas and OU find a landing spot in a power 5 conference.
WVU would want to go ACC, but does adding WVU move the needle for the ACC?

it's all about money at this point.

A big 12 minus just Texas and OU would still be formidable.

Adding UCF, Cinn. plus 2 more would make a tough 12 team conference with national exposure and many land grant schools with huge fan bases.

money wont be as good, but still better than the other group of 5 teams.

Taylor better be on the phone with the Big 10 commissioner ASAP. KSU can not be left out of a P5 conference

Is it a coincidence that this is happening right after the NIL ruling? At least the Big 12 got that ESPN+ agreement locked in though. I wonder how many times Ksu will be lucky to play games on that media

Hate to say it, but what makes K-State a super attractive fit for other power leagues? Men’s basketball has been dreadful for two full seasons and football no longer has the involvement of the legend. Hope I’m wrong but I don’t get good vibes about the next round of realignment
