Yup, that is correct. I think we've had this discussion before...I still don't know eitherZoltar wrote: ↑September 28th, 2024, 7:43 pmYou have no idea what keeping something on the down low actually means. None at all.Tbonespop wrote: ↑September 28th, 2024, 7:29 pm
Agreed, we gotta keep that on the down low . Opposing defenses are going to start playing containment to keep him from running and make him a pocket passer. He's going to continue to develop his pocket passing ability, but it's by far the thing he's least comfortable with. He'll get there.

My statement is a movie quote from Frank The Tank in Oldschool when talking about the Red Dragon not being exactly street legal.

Emporia State University continues to lose students while the rest of the higher education system in Kansas reports enrollment increases in data released Wednesday by the Kansas Board of Regents #ksleg #ksed
=============
"Enrollment is up 5.6% at the University of Kansas, 2.8% at Kansas State University, 0.9% at Wichita State University, 0.7% at Pittsburg State University and 0.3% at Fort Hays State University. Washburn posted a 6.5% increase.
“For the second consecutive year, all sectors of the Kansas higher education system are experiencing growth,” said Kansas Board of Regents chairman Carl Ice. “These increases are an indicator that our system is improving affordability and access for Kansas families.”
ESU continues to be an outlier."

That's no easy feat in this era of fewer high school graduates, rising tuition costs, and renewed interest in the trades as well as getting a degree in nursing, business, IT, etc. at a two-year school. In addition, a lot of high school grads who intend to go to a four-year college may do their first two years at community college to save money and knock out the gen ed courses.WildcatEngineer wrote: ↑Yesterday, 8:23 pmhttps://kansasreflector.com/2024/10/02/ ... ost-gains/

It does make one wonder what is going on at ESU. Fort Hays State is in an area of the state that is losing population so one would think they would be in the same boat, but they seem to be holding their own.

I think cost of attending is a big FT. Hays draw. And, I think a student can get a good education, too.
I've a nephew from Gardner, excellent student, who chose Ft. Hays and is a frosh there.

The Kansas Board of Regents need to look at keeping KU and KSU enrollment at a level that financially optimizes faculty, staff, and operational costs. If that means transitioning Emporia State to a Junior College, then it should be done. Causing higher enrollment costs at KU and KSU because of low enrollment in the Kansas system is negligent management.
