The one-time transfer rule for athletes in all sports has been approved by the NCAA's Division Council, source tells
@TheAthletic
. Athletes in all sports will be able to transfer once and be immediately eligible.
(This isn't official until end of Thursday's meeting.)

I'm not sure what the percentage is, but a lot of transfers are already immediately eligible due to being a grad, or getting a waiver. And this year was a good test case in how the transfer market will work.

I see this as being good for K State. Higher rated guys who don’t get PT for blue bloods will be looking for a program where they can get playing time. KSU is attractive IMHO. I think this takes the emphasis off of getting highly rated players out of HS and always working the portal.

I tend to agree with this. I am not a big fan of the transfer portal, but there are so many high school kids who get "stars in their eyes" when they receive offers from big-name, out-of-state schools. They will turn down offers from other P5 schools only to end up sitting, buried in the depth chart, when they could be competing for a starting spot right away at other schools. I can see the transfer rules working for their benefit (and hopefully, ours).Tbonespop wrote: ↑April 16th, 2021, 8:13 pmI see this as being good for K State.
