The opener Thursday against Texas A&M CC was canceled because of weather so today’s game against Mizzou was their first game.
Cats looked to avenge at 17-2 loss to Mizzou last year.
McCollough has another very good outing. Going 6 innings his last game and only giving up 1 run on 4 hits and 6 K’s. Today he once again went 6 innings, giving up 1 run on 4 hits, but 8 K’s today and today the bullpen backed him up not allowing any more runs. The offense pushed 5 runs across, including a 2 run homer by Ceballas for a 5-1 win.
That’s 3 in a row and a 3-2 overall record.
Tomorrow they have Texas A&M CC and then Utah on Sunday. Good opportunities for Casey Ford and Jordan Wicks to each get win number 2.

I believe I saw the bullpen added 5 more strikeouts to McCullough's great start. I don't know anything about Mizzou this year but they were always a tough game for us so I consider this a very good win. After all they are from the mighty SEC

All I know is what I heard on the broadcast yesterday and they said Mizzou was a heavy upperclassmen team last year and this year they are pretty young and inexperienced. They won 2 of 3 from Jacksonville St last week. A good performance by the pitching staff regardless of what they will be.catfan1952 wrote: ↑February 21st, 2020, 8:40 pmI believe I saw the bullpen added 5 more strikeouts to McCullough's great start. Utah just scrapped by Tex A&M CC 2-1 yesterday and is 2-3 on the young season.
This is a weekend the cats could bolster the win column if they get the pitching they are capable and find even a little offense.

Cats with another bad loss today to Tex AM CC. No offense and pitching wasn’t as strong. Try to get the W tomorrow against Utah and leave with a 2-1 trip.

Jordan Wicks throws another gem giving up no runs and no hits through 7 innings. Tyler Ekberg mows down Utah in the 8th and the Cats take a 1-0 lead to the 9th. But the Utes finally get a hit to lead off the inning and things fell apart and they walk off 2-1. Just one hit but walks and a wild pitch killed us in the 9th
