Sounds like we are turning a corner.

The winning run in the bottom of the 9th was obviously the capper, but far from all the excitement.
Cats were down 6-1 in bottom of the 7th. Had bases loaded but also had 2 down. The next batter got a strike called on a check swing when they appealed the 1st base umpire. The first base coach Conlon went bananas and HC Pete Hughes went running from the dugout to both keep him from getting tossed and support him. Only Pete ended up getting tossed and that’s when things got crazy. That batter got plunked and ended up forcing home a run. There were two tough bounce infield hits and another hit up the middle. In the end the Cats scored 4 to get back within one 6-5.
Then in the 8th the Cats put up 5 with some more crazy plays to go up 10-6. In the top of the 9th the first two batters for TCU went down on ground outs, then the next 3 all were down to their last strike and managed to get on, one scoring. That brought up TCU’s big bat and the Big12 leader in average and he clubbed a 3 run homer.
The Cats got out of it now tied 10-10 and their leadoff for the 9th, Burrows, drew a walk. Announcers were saying he’s the Cats equivalent to the Royals Gore. He stole 2nd and got to 3rd on passes ball. Then Ausmus dropped a bunt to squeeze him home for the winner.
One of the most exciting games I’ve seen in a while. Well from the 7th inning on anyway.
These guys are really battling and hopefully they can get a another series against OU at home next Saturday. They’re in the mix in a league with lots of parity and no one really running away with it.

Great report bhoovy ...... except, you neglected to say when Shane Conlon went bonkers the nearly jam-packed crowd jumped on the atrocious umpiring calls being made. (We lost track, but there were at least five different occasions when the umpiring crew had to go make a review via closed circuit monitors!) Coach Pete getting tossed was probably the best thing that has happened to this bunch of guys since the season started. It is apparent nearly each one of the players are proud to be playing under this coaching staff. From that time until well after the game ended the fans were as loud as we heard them since the team won the Big 12 several years ago.
It is going to be exciting to see how this team responses to the up coming OU games. Oklahoma can be beat. UWV can be beat. KU can be beat. The only serious problem will be going to Baylor!

Yeah 59 many of those reviews were unnecessary. And a couple actually helped them get it corrected.
That crew wasn’t having their best outing.
