Bat Cats in the B12
Cowboys sweep the Cats in Stillwater to start the season. The guys were pretty competitive but the big inning killed us. This is the 5th straight season we've started by being swept.

I don't follow KSU baseball very closely but it does seem that we seem to always be fighting with KU for the 8th playoff spot.
Why can't we get a decent team? Is it the northern climate team thing?
I only remember us making the NCAA playoffs one time in the last 25 years.

I watched the game and I think KSU is on the right track. I think the players are bigger than we are used to. We just need to avoid the big innings. I think Hughes will be a winner.

Hill had done a pretty good job until his last 3 or so years they couldn’t seem to move out of the bottom.Zoltar wrote: ↑March 24th, 2019, 9:07 pmI don't follow KSU baseball very closely but it does seem that we seem to always be fighting with KU for the 8th playoff spot.

Hill had us in the NCAA tournament 4 of 5 years from 2009-13, with a big 12 championship and a super regional in 2013. Until the last two years he had us in the big 12 tournament 8 of 9 years.
Hopefully Hughes can get us to seeing the post season more years than not, but it will be tough this year probably.

going to austin taking two of three from the horns and the final a shutout by a frosh lefty is a pretty big deal for the program.
Why is there something rather than nothing?

He had 6 K’s and only gave up 5 hits.
Very impressive performance.
Cats were also pretty good in game one winning 6-4. Hassle threw 5 innings of one hit one run ball. And Brennan closed out the last 2 innings with no hits and 4 K’s.
Maybe this series will get them going.

Jordan Wicks is newcomer of the week and very deserving. Let's see if the guys can build on it and take another series. Hosting TCU this weekend in the Thu-Fri-Sat format because of Easter Sunday. Go Cats!
Tuesday's win at Nebraska was a pleasure to watch. # 13 Littlejim's pitching performance was right on track. #18 Will's closer was super. It is great to see players going 'two-ways' like these two young men . Sunday's radio broadcast at Texas with Brian Smoller stated it best: "The Pete Hughes era is not here yet ........ but you can see it on the horizon!" Let's get out and support this team this weekend against TCU.
