The roster: http://www.kstatesports.com/roster.aspx?path=wvball

Minus Vogel we have everyone back. We'll be stacked at middle. Could Sandbothe be shifting to take Vogel's spot?

Vogel is a big loss for a team that struggled to pass and hit consistently. Hooper left, but she didn't play much last year so unknown how much she would play this season. Haffner transferred, but didn't play at all last season *maybe super early in the season*

Did anyone get to see KSU play in the spring games? still 6-2 offense? Any players switch positions? any assessments of the new folks?

For whatever it is worth, KSU picked 5th in the league. IMHO not a lot separates KSU from TCU/TT/OU. WVU lost their best player by far so they will likely struggle. Zumach is the lone wildcat to get pre-season honors. I saw something from a twitter wrt Hooper not playing this year,so her absence from the roster is real. Haffner confirmed to be gone as well.

On the national team front , the USA women won the Volleyball Nation League this year by beating turkey in 5. Pretty good matches if you want to look them up on youtube. Also the USA men are in the Final round as well.

From what I hear, Hooper is now professionally modeling and designing clothes.

I'm not sure how KU can be picked ahead of us. They lost almost everything.

But we should potentially be in contention for fourth if not third.

Brooke Smith no longer on the roster which leaves Dixon as the only setter on the roster right now. This probably make a 5-1 easy to predict for the upcoming season. anyone have any info if another setter is coming in?

Hmm...interesting. Smith was athletic, but her serve was maddening.

Does this make the transfer of Haffner unfortunate now?

Yeah...lots to ponder about reason for leaving. My guess (maybe my hope) is that they have someone else coming in or they have another player on the team that can set well enough to run the offense effectively. Suzie did convert Donahue to a setter back like ~8 yrs ago and that turned out well, so maybe a surprise is coming. It would be almost insane to go at it with only 1 setter as one injury would be devastating for the season. I guess we will find out soon enough.

Pick 'Em

With limited knowledge of NCAA transfer rules, can someone explain the restrictions, if any, she faced leaving NE, playing at KState, then returning to NE? Since she hasn’t graduated, she wouldn’t qualify for the graduate exemption. Did she sit out a year at kstste and/or will she sit out a year at NE? All in all, the trajectory in college athletics appears to be less restrictions on transfers, for good or bad.
