Re: The Road To Omaha!!
And just like that an error by Parsons gives up to unearned runs. Actually the second one was also attributed to Ingram as he should have thrown to second and he would have held the runner to a single. Even Culpepper was telling him 3rd. Big O did his job.
Again, baseball IQ and defense not necessarily a strong suit of this team. Do the little things and you win games.
Got to get the offense going again.

No the error lead to two runs. Big O did a good job after the walk. Defense let him down after that. No runs scored if the play was made and it was routine.WildcatEngineer wrote: ↑June 7th, 2024, 7:34 pmLeadoff walk led to 2 runs for the Cavs.
Top of 6 Cats still lead 3-2

Boerema pitched a very good game. But Blake continues to struggle with the first batter he faces. Usually it’s a walk and a walk would have been nice.
But great answer by Bishop. If Blake hadn’t thrown the pass ball we’d be back in the lead. It’s the little things that matter.
Cats showing resilience though.

Unfortunately Dean, who was our most consistent and reliable arm out of the pen has not faired very well in the post season. Wasn’t very good in the one game in Arkansas and not sharp tonight.

I had just said you better go get a righty. That slow lefty stuff to a right handed hitter, especially this lineup, is just playing with fire. And boom it was gone.
That’s on Hughes. Bad decision. Could be the game this late.

Well looks like we’ll have to beat them two in a row now at their place. This team hasn’t won a road series all year except for the first one of the season at Houston, who ended up as last place.
And the offense is going to have to produce more. It’s going to be hard to hold these guys under 5 unless we just get lights out performances from Wentworth and Ruhl.
And as I’m typing more bad baseball fundamentals with no one covering 2nd.
Well the regional was fun.

Not the same team tonight that we seen last weekend. More like the team that struggled for most the second half the season. Ingram went back to being MIA. Only had 5 hits as a team. That won’t get it done against these guys.
After watching them I don’t think Virginia is really a national champion type of team, but they have lots of guys who can hit and so really put pressure on a pitching staff. We seen better pitching last week than what we saw tonight, but again, at AB’s more like we had the second half the season.
I guess tomorrow we’ll see if last weekend was just more of a fluke or if this team shows a little more to prove it wasn’t. Have to play clean ball, be fundamentally sound and come out and hit the ball.

BH, that is pretty much what Coach Hughes said in his TV interview. He was also said the Cavs had 3 run homers up and down the lineup. Unfortunately, he was correct on that.
