You all enjoy. I won’t even be able to watch on espn+ as this ends up being the Friday for this month I have class. I’ll see if I can check the game tracker a time or two.
Hopefully they’ll get a big win and I can watch there second round game Saturday night.

I hope to learn some of the strategy of these types of tournaments. When do you go all in and not think about tomorrow?

For us? Game 1. All in. For Arkansas? Depends on the coaching philosophy. But most coaches don't change their pitching rotation unless there is an injury on the staff. Or they think game one is a cake walk regardless of who they throw. Then they save their #1 starter for their next winner's bracket game. Either way IIRC Pig Sooey spent a good portion of the year at #1 in the country. I don't think they are too concerned about getting out of their regional. Nor should they be. None of the other 3 teams have the firepower they posses. They will have to piss themselves for anyone else to have a snowball's chance. Too much talent. In a perfect world, everyone would choose hard work, morals and ethics over obscene money and fame. And everyone outside of Lowrents would be required to be a red blooded, card carrying Payhawk hater.

If you’re referring to firepower as pitching then I would agree. But offensively Arkansas is pretty pedestrian. Now they may hit over their head in front of their big home crowd, as they’re all jacked up. But for example, their 5 hole hitters average is under .200. SEMO doesn’t really present much of a problem, but if KSU or La Tech has a solid #2 or just gets a solid performance by their #2, they could present problems. Texas Tech went there for two midweek games and lost them both by just one run, late. Tech had a very off year.epicsnyder wrote: ↑May 31st, 2024, 2:52 pmFor us? Game 1. All in. For Arkansas? I may have spoke too soon about SEMO not being a big threat. Down 8-0 they got 4 back in the 3rd. 3 on a 3 run homer. Then in the 5th they got a sac run with the bases loaded and then another 3 run homer. It’s tied 8-8 and they’re still batting and Arkansas has now used their 3rd pitcher.
This is why it doesn’t matter what seed you are or are playing. You put your best guy out there and advance first and foremost.

Arkansas got six home runs, including two apiece from Hudson White and Ben McLaughlin, to out-slug Southeast Missouri State, 17-9, in the opener of the Fayetteville Regional at Baum-Walker Stadium Friday.
