2023 KSU Volleyball
Re: 2023 KSU Volleyball
Wow Wow. I still can't believe they did it and beat Texas in 3. I need to absorb that win by KSU. Texas has some critical errors, but KSU didn't fold and kept the pressure on Texas. Props to Izzi for the sets/block/hits, Morris for the Digs, Carter and Clinton to take out the trash on the outside. Schmidt and Bolding to get what they could and touch balls.

Had church so couldn’t watch live but got an alert right as church ended showing KSU 3 UT 0. Had to do a double take. Just finished watching the replay. They played awesome. Passing was solid most the night. Setting was very good. Hitting was great. Carter was Carter. Clinton was very good again. But they also got great contributions from the middles.
Man if they’re not in the tournament now I’m not sure they can do anything to get in. They obviously need to finish off the season in the same fashion but if they do they should certainly be dancing. If they had won 3 matches they never should have lost they’d be ranked and possibly be hosting. If they were able to host I think they almost certainly advance. But I know hosting is not possible because of the entire body of work. But they’re playing about as well as anyone in the conference.

Nothing, not even a sniffle, can dampen the aftermath of K-State’s 3-0 sweep (25-22, 25-22, 25-21) against No. 3 Texas at a sold-out Morgan Family Arena on Wednesday night. A crowd of 3,044 packs every crevice and witnesses the Wildcats snap a 39-game losing streak to the Longhorns. The victory over the defending national champions ranks as one of the best by K-State in its history. It’s the highest-ranked opponent K-State has ever beaten in a regular-season match. The atmosphere is incredible. It’s electric. Guys in the crowd chant “S-E-C” and Sandstorm booms across the arena sound system and a videoboard sign reads: “ON YOUR FEET.”

If we beat Ttech both times, we should get into the tourney. Win out and maybe get a more favorable first round game.
I watched more of that games last night, dang Morris was locked in last night.
Looks like we signed the 3 2024 recruits below.
Emerson Van Lannon- Kansas State University- Setter (FC Elite)
Alyss Kelly- Kansas State- Libero/DS (Washington Volleyball Academy)
Tatum Tindall- Kansas State- MB/RS (KC Power)

Recent update from the folks on Volleytalk Bracketology.
KSU last 4 in the tournament.
RPI futures is 55 based on winning 2 more games against Ttech. If we lose against Ttech then we are done. Seems like while we should make it with just 2 wins, still on the bubble. If we also beat Houston then we would be a lock. Lipscomb, TCU, OU, Cincy losses are really hurting us.

"You Are What Your Record Says You Are" - I tip my hat to the NCAA on all sports in how they judge teams. They look at the whole season as well as good wins and bad losses. It opens up to gripes ie KSU Baseball last spring. But it awards teams for the entire season.
