Chad Shade

Post by SkeeterZX190 » May 5th, 2021, 2:38 pm

There is an article on GoPowerCat where they talk with Matt Walters about the baseball team. They asked him a question about the highlights so far this season. Matt mentions Chad Shade and his Sunday start against Texas Southern, his only game played as a Wildcat and in his final at bat hitting a homer. It goes on to say that will be the last game he plays in for the Wildcats. I haven't been able to find any info on why it's his last. Anybody know?

I had heard that too and was wondering why they had said that during the game. Apparently there’s a 30 man roster limit in Big 12 games, but not for non-cons. Shade isn’t part of KSU’s conference 30 man and with Sunday being the last non-con game it’s presumed it would be his last game played as a wildcat, as he’s a transfer from a D3 school where he used all 4 years of eligibility, but received one more because of Covid and used it to be a part of the KSU baseball team.

I’m assuming he could be added to the 30 man roster if coach wanted or needed to make a move, but there doesn’t appear to be any indication he will.
