So Texas ties it up at 2 in the bottom of the 6th but in the 7th with ku having two on and two out and the top hitter in the conference coming to bat Texas decides to walk him and the next batter hits a grand slam.

Ku upsets Texas 6-3 and now the cats get UT at 9am tomorrow. They have lots of arms to throw at what has become an inept ksu offense, and the cats have really struggled with their pitching so they could easily get run ruled in both their games.

I been saying each week that they need the best performance of the season from Fajardo and he’s yet to deliver. Tomorrow will likely be his last chance. But he has to have some help from the offense.

Terrible time of year to go into the tank like the Cats have over the past couple of weeks.

Sorry to be old school...BUT the cats seem to be most interested in looking like dudes with the neck chains and unbuttoned jerseys the past week.

I have noticed that I’ve seen more of that stuff with Cats players than players of other programs. Now it may not be fair as I don’t necessarily look for it and I don’t see other teams near as much, but they do seem to want to look the part more than play the part at times.

True, but it’s also 5 losses in 7 games. Not the direction to be trending this time of year.

They’ve been out scored in those 7 games 31-66, giving up an average of 9.5 runs per game. Wowzers.

They only averaged giving up 5.9 runs per game over the other 18 and only 107 runs over those 18.

They also average scoring 6.3 over those other 18, while just averaging 4.4 in the last 7.

Well as Gome Pyle would say “surprise, surprise, surprise”. The cats pull off an upset of their own shutting out the horns 6-0. Ty Ruhl got the start and was nails, going 5 innings and only allowing one hit. The cats scored a run in the first inning, but Ruhl and the cats didn’t let Texas get going.
Neighbors then pitched the final 4 innings and did what he does. And in the 7th the bats gave him some cushion. They loaded the bases and then kept the carousel going with a couple walks and hits scoring 5 in the inning.

But the big surprise was Dom Hughes hitting in the 3 spot. When I seen that i started finding all the white towels, sheets, pillow cases i could to give the surrender sign. But Dom actually knocked in that first run and ended up going 3-4 and was on base 4 times.
So that old saying is true, even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while.

Quite the performance by the cats today with their backs against the wall and their season likely coming to an end. The broadcast crew seems to believe that today’s game pretty well locks them into the tournament, but take nothing for granted and go get some more.

Not sure what the pitching will be tomorrow but hopefully today helped get the offense jump started.

Great win against the #1 seed. I wish Neighbors didn't have to throw so many pitches today in case they need him again soon.

I said to my wife while traveling: if they can get it to neighbors they’ll win, they did. Starting pitching is the issue, cats have a magnificent closer.
