2022 Volleyball
Re: 2022 Volleyball
There is no reason KSU can get a very good coach and turn this thing around quickly. Baylor did it with their coach a while back. TCU with practically the same team changed coaches and is now in the top half of the league vs finishing last. KSU staff just didn't get it done since 2016.

22 years is a great run in any position in any work place.
We need a Female face to represent KSU. Every person we presently have that goes in front of the cameras is a middle aged male.

Want to hire the best coach possible to turn the VB program around. A lady "best" coach would be frosting on the cake.

I would think volleyball would be a good sport to look for an up-and-comer coach.

the new volleyball complex coupled with substandard performance from suzy's squads makes this the right time. six of ten b12 teams made the ncaa tournament field this year.
gene taylor is willing to make needed changes. that's crystal clear.

Let's see if he can land KSU another "nugget"of a VB coach.
He's done quite well in hiring coaches, so far.

I’m with this. If they play gender or racial politics with the hiring process then you’re not looking for the best candidate. If the best candidate is a female then great. But if it’s a male then so be it. The objective is to hire the best coach who can make the program successful.ToledoCat#3 wrote: ↑November 28th, 2022, 10:40 amWant to hire the best coach possible to turn the VB program around. Well UNLV just lost to Wazzu. Will be interesting if Dawn is the target or the South Dakota coach or others. There are a lot of good D1 job open right now as UCLA just let go of Sealy. I would think Fritz probably gets a reasonable job outside the P5. Seems like there is some stink about how she was let go . I can't imagine there wasn't some discussion at the beginning of the season about the goals that need to met after some pretty poor seasons.

Until tomorrow KSU has not sniffed a Big XII title in any sport for 5 years. Now I will agree with your statement with the caveat that he makes changes to programs that are more public. He did well in the Football hire. The MBB hire appears to be doing well. The Women's Tennis hire was next person up and save the budget. The Mens Golf and Baseball hires were old vets of the business that have been mediocre.
I do not disagree it was time for a change in VB.
I will repeat myself ADGT's most important managerial point is he has properly and smoothly handled the finances of the Athletic Department. That should NEVER be under estimated.
