Fringy Pep-Rally or Stoking the Fires of Civil War*?

Post by WIldWIllieCat » March 5th, 2019, 6:48 pm

CPAC - Jerry Falwell Jr.

The supposed “Christian” pastor seems to have missed reading the part of the Bible where the commandment “Thou shalt not kill” is mandated since he threatened to shoot the Bronx-born Congresswoman if she tried to “take his cows” — as right-wing propagandists have falsely characterized AOC’s Green NewDeal as advocating — in remarks he made at the CPAC convention this weekend.

Another speaker said that the energy initiatives in the proposed "Green New Deal" and proposed universal background checks for purchasing firearms were "Stalin's dream".

I think he is getting anxious waiting for tax cut Jesus to take him and his followers to the “promised land.”

The irony of his hatred is that a lot of his people who hate the “Green New Deal” benefit greatly from the first New Deal.

I would be more inclined to be in favor of the GND if it included expanding nuclear energy but of corse it doesn’t. It’s just another bill Democrat’s are throwing against the wall to please there supporters but really wouldn’t accomplish anything.

Nor does it include engagements with critical emerging markets like China, India, and Brazil. It's flawed and needs refining but the ultimate goal of getting carbon neutral is a worthy cause.

The cause is worthy but there is little use supporting a fundamentally flawed plan.

That's not really the question on the table though is it?

It appears that the question is whether or not the initiatives in the GND are enough of a justification for National Republican Populists to start killing people.

The DeLPS obsession with a pending Civil War is highly entertaining. That said, Rev. Falwell is just another greedy televangelist IMHO. I wish he'd keep his mouth shut and join up with the DeLPS, but I know he won't.

Which is why we need the Republicans to come to the table, stop denying, and either fix the GND or come up with their own plan. We can't have our only choices be nothing or socialism.

LoL...leave him alone, he's trying really, really hard. That level of obfuscation or delusion is truly kind of impressive....I mean, nobody's buying it, but still.
