Re: Georgia joins states allowing college athletes to be paid

you said they got their education for 'free.' that's bull dung of the first order. and yes, most would not play football if not for the education that comes with it. i do not understand how 'fans' can be so mean-spirited towards student-athletes, who for the most part, are great youngsters. these h...

Re: Georgia joins states allowing college athletes to be paid

bull dung. their education is not free. they work their asses for their education and most wouldn't play football if not for that degree in the end. they have personally told me that. BS.... "They"? You've talked to all of em? I used to live with 3 of them in college. I know what they go through an...

Re: Georgia joins states allowing college athletes to be paid

"giant building by our football stadium" - i'm not sure what you're talking about, the indoor training facility? and student-athlete educations are hardly free. they spend pretty much 24/7/365 developing their bodies and skills for our entertainment. That's exactly what I'm talking about. I've had ...

Re: Georgia joins states allowing college athletes to be paid

This is just another in a long line of decisions that will forever destroy "amateur" athletics. And using the term "student"-athlete in this proclamation is almost laughable at this point as very few, if any, of these athletes will go to any of these schools for an education. I have been waning in ...

Re: Kansas hires Buffalo's Lance Leipold as football coach

Without better QB play, KU won't go anywhere. Their current roster of six QBs had less than 10 total D-1 offers combined as recruits (including zero P5 offers), which is a good barometer for the level of talent they have at the position. Leipold will obviously need to address that to be successful....

https://www.yahoo.com/news/getting-hit-bricks-man-testifies-233256285.html I still don't see how this was kept so quiet for so long. De Sousa was arguing with 2 KU softball players. And 3 other KU basketball players were there, plus many witnesses. No way KU staff didn't know. The fact that KU kept...

Re: Kansas hires Buffalo's Lance Leipold as football coach

The path to six wins seems tough, but can get done. If that happens LL is a hero, if not a wealthy man who will find another job. My son is a high school football coach, hope he goes the college route someday! It may happen, but it will take at least 4 years. They have Duke and Houston on their non...

Re: Traveling for work, pet peaves

Idiots driving in the passing lane and won't get over. I'm not talking for a few hundred yards. I'm talking about morons who don't know the law or are just purposely being P-ricks. I'm at the good 'ol age where I honk and motion vigorously to "get the **** over". I really, really wish cops would sta...

Re: Kansas hires Buffalo's Lance Leipold as football coach

My first call would be to Andre Coleman and offer him the OC job. I know he only has 1 year of co-OC experience, but he has recruiting ties here, Oklahoma, Texas, and now Florida, as he just pulled a big WR out of Florida about a month ago. You'd likely have to offer him north of $500,000 though, as...

Re: Kansas hires Buffalo's Lance Leipold as football coach

No risk for him. He's old enough that he isn't likely to get any other P5 job. If he fails, whatever, he's proven he can do it at the Buffalo level, so he'll get another shot there.
