Rare earths is another major issue. There is a mine in California (Mountain Pass). It has opened and closed repeatedly because Beijing has always been able to undercut prices. Mountain Pass is the only U.S. source for rare earth minerals. "Since 2007, China has restricted exports of REEs and imposed...

Re: What the.....?

Having worked as a non-union, non-managerial employee for public sector and private sector employers, I have observed that unions absolutely hate for a union member's pay, benefits, or promotional status to be affected by the member's work performance. When management would try to put language in th...

Re: David Sloan in transfer portal

Good comments.

There is also a tendency on message boards for posters to contract straw man arguments, attribute the argument to another poster, and tear the argument down.

I won't say that everyone is guilty of it :) but I probably do it sometimes.

Re: New Committment

It looks like COVID-19 was unnecessary to make some of our posters unhappy (not referring to anyone currently on this page of the thread).

Re: David Sloan in transfer portal

I wonder where he will end up. I wonder whether he will have to sit out a year. I wonder whether he will have to sit out an extra year if there are no games in 20 - 21. So we have lost two players who would have played next year. Two players who would not have played next year. And the three graduat...

One correction - Rudi is .837 for free throws and ,360 for threes, if I recall the statistics correctly.

Re: God, faith, Church, bankruptcy and Covid 19

Christ discusses a Christian's responsibility to governmental authority in three of the Gospels. To paraphrase, render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's and render to God the things that are God's (Matthew 22, Mark 12, Luke 20). See also Romans 13 and I Peter 2 which discuss a Christian's res...

Re: CDC Reviewing Public Use of Face Masks

Good job Sir! Keep thinking about keeping hands off the mask! Does it go around your ears or clear around your head. I’ve heard a lot of people complain about being hard on the ears. There are elastic straps that go around my ears. The elastic seems soft enough to give it a try. I think there is a ...

Re: CDC Reviewing Public Use of Face Masks

My wife made a mask for me. It is blue flannel on the outside (we did not have purple flannel) and pelon on the inside. I like it! I tested the mask at home yesterday. I figured that I can get into and out of a grocery store in about 20 minutes so the mask had to feel comfortable enough that I would...
