Society used to value a college graduate with a "well-rounded education" -- meaning exposure to the fine arts, literature, music, etc. It was a good idea then, but not today. Today society values a "well-rounded technocrat" with skills in critical thinking, computers, STEM classes, and leadership. ...

I think schools like K-State are caught in a "perfect storm." With the things already mentioned, along with fewer kids coming up, colleges are fighting like crazy to recruit students to their schools. K-State is hardly alone in this predicament. Bhoocy, funny you mentioning underdogs coming up to bite the big boys. I am watching some of the guys (Eruzione/Jim Craig etc) that were on the 1980 U.S. hockey team when they beat the USSR on the Miracle on Ice. So, yes. It can happen. If we can stay within 20 it will almost be a win. EpicSnyder.....

I'm glad he transferred in this semester so that he will be more ready to play come next season. Having some college experience under his belt already will help him with the transition.
