Re: New multiyear contract for Dean Wade

https://www.hoopsrumors.com/2020/06/cavs-agree-to-deals-with-jordan-bell-dean-wade.html Sounds like he gets a nice bonus of $375k this year and a foot in the door going forward. I’m sure a guaranteed deal would have been preferred, but this seems to indicate that Cleveland likes him and with their s...

Re: Which new player will have the biggest impact, next season?

I went with Pack because we badly need a point guard and I think he will play ahead of R Williams. But there will be a lot of minutes available all over the floor. Much like the year Kam, Barry & Dean showed up, there is great opportunity for some young guys to step up and make a name for themselves.

Re: Recent Dean Wade & Matt Mooney interview

Just seems like they overpaid Love. Was that to get him there to try to make LeBron happy? I don't know much about the other players. Certainly seems unfair to be able to keep a young player down due to poor management. One of the things Belien said when he left was he was not prepared for how much...

Re: Recent Dean Wade & Matt Mooney interview

Most of us would prefer to see Dean just about anywhere but Cleveland - bad team, eastern conference so he rarely gets to play anywhere close to home, expensive vets on the roster ahead of him - but he’s a restricted free agent so his immediate future is likely with the Cavs. What he needs is an opp...

Re: Way too early Big 12 power rankings

The Big 12 will be back to being very, very, good next year. NBC sports has 3 teams in the top 7 and 5 in the top 25. Pretty much every team recruited well this year, there is a lot of talent returning and no new coaches. We could be a better team than last year and not have many more wins to show f...

Ran across this article from a local Cleveland sports blog about Dean. Probably about as insightful as anything at this point.

Re: Great Idea

I think we will see more of this. What has kept the best young kids out of the G-league is low salaries. 500k base isn’t chump change and it won’t be all they make. They will get free room and board. They will be eligible for endorsements. They may even work out a system like 2-ways where they get $...

Re: So long Cartier

I think this is best for both parties. I think it was pretty obvious that he was tired of being in Manhattan. He’s talented enough to play professionally at some level and the best way to develop that talent is to turn pro. Even though he’s in the transfer portal, I don’t see another year of college...

Re: Recruiting Thread

I like this pick up. You don’t often get a game changer in the spring - and I doubt he is one. But he’s a solid 3 star guy with offers/interest from other good programs. Good athlete. Looks like a high character, high intellect, guy. Hopefully, at the least, good enough to make those above him on th...

Re: TCU Game Thread and Notes. A Win/Win Situation

How do you win a game shooting 25% from 3 and 38.9% overall? Shockingly we out rebounded them by 9 and only gave them 4 free throw attempts. We won’t win shooting like that against Baylor, but at least we ground this one out.
