Re: Who is the most important player??

Strictly speaking, the answer to the question in the thread title is Makol Mawien. All three returning starters are important because they represent 80% of the experience on the team, but Mak is the one who appears to be crucial to KSU being a decent team this season. It will already be a challenge ...

Re: We should have a decent team this year.

Yeah, Richmond was a tragic and disturbing story -- much worse than Foster. He was a tremendously talented player from an early age, but he went off the tracks even before leaving high school. Initially he seemed to have had a strong family unit for support, but his mother and father divorced while ...

Re: Dean Wade update

Barry mentioned on the KSU twitter page that he will be in Manhattan to pick up his championship ring and see the first football game.

Re: We should have a decent team this year.

One other comment on Beard. If we had to replace Weber and could pick one coach currently coaching in the Big12, my first choice is Beard, even over Self. I may be in the minority or even on an island by myself but that’s who I choose. Beard has a very high regard for Weber by the way. After his lo...

Re: We should have a decent team this.

There are obvious challenges this season, but there are many potential positives as well. KSU will have three returning starters in Makol, Xavier, and Cartier (31 starts) from teams over the last two seasons that accomplished two noteworthy program milestones. That is a good core to build around, pa...

Re: B12/SEC Challenge ...

The Beakers won't be happy about UK not coming to AFH. TTU got the primetime(home) game this time :o probably best. I mean, how would it look if at some time in the future BOTH teams had to forfeit that game? You mean like the 2008 National Championship game where KU played Darrell Arthur and Memph...

Re: Dean Wade update

Recall that KSU started the conference season at 0-2 without Wade. Then, still without Wade, Brown led the amazing turnaround in game 3 to overcome a 21-point deficit for their first conference win. From that 0-2 start, KSU went 14-2 in the conference including 7-1 on the road (while losing key sub ...

All is well. The NCAA just chose the UK AD to chair the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Committee. All is well. These are not the droids you are looking for.
