Kansas State defeated TCU 64-52 in Fort Worth on Big Monday. The game started relatively close, with the Cats nurturing a two possession lead much of the first half. A late three by Kamau Stokes stretched the halftime advantage to nine.
A quick 10-0 run would ultimately stretch the lead out to as much as 21 in the second half before TCU brought the game back within reach.
- Barry Brown Jr. seems to have found his shot, after slumping in recent games. Brown Jr. led Wildcat scoring with 16.
- The win, combined with Texas Tech’s win over Texas, means that K-State needs either a Wildcat win on Saturday against Oklahoma, or a Tech loss at Iowa State to win the league. KU needs to win their final two games and have both Tech and K-State lose to extend their conference title streak.
- Texas Tech will play their game before Kansas State Saturday, so the Cats will know whether their game is for a share of the title (should Tech win), or whether they’ve already won a share by virtue of a Tech loss and thus are playing for an outright title.
