2018 Volleyball Thread
Re: 2018 Volleyball Thread
yikes...WVU isn't near as good as they were last season. I was hoping OU was just a down game, but now.....hope they can put it back together and beat TCU this weekend in Manhattan.

This is what we've seen for 15+ years with Suzie Fritz teams... come within a point of beating a top 5 team. Then get swept off the floor in two-straight matches vs. subpar teams. Look at the box score from tonight - simply not even competitive against a bad West Virginia team. Zebras don't change their stripes...
another ugh. lost to TCU 1-3. That is 0-4 in the big 12. Passing wasn't good. Zumach doesn't look near as good hitting as she did against Texas and the other matches that we shown on-line/espn3. Sandbothe wasn't dress in uniform (warm-up gear or something), so maybe she is hurt.
next game against ISU. Cross my fingers and hope that KSU can turn it around and get back after it. Still couldn't find anything on sandbothe.
It looks like KSU got an early 2020 commit from Aliyah Carter https://www.prepdig.com/2018/09/top-202 ... sas-state/. Looks like #2 in Iowa for 2020.

Zumach is in an enormous, multi-match long funk. As she goes, K-State goes, which is still winless in Big 12 play at 0-6 (including losses to 4 bad/mediocre teams in OU, Iowa State, West Virginia and TCU).
Drove an 1.5hrs to go to my first college VB game last night. My daughter is the setter for our HS VB team and been wanting to get her to a game. My son is a FR at kstate so he met us there. Had a good time seeing him.
Not impressed with the lady cats. I'm a VB newby so just don't understand a lot, but ISU's front line was better than ours. There was one play where our girl returned one and it went high up in the air, our tall front line girl was yelling out at our libero, and they both stood there and the ball just landed between them. I'm sure that was all our libero's fault.
Oh, well.

yeah another lackluster game from KSU. Gloria is a high point hitting 0.429 on 28 attacks. Zumach hit 0.083:(. Sandbothe was back and hit 0.273. Heyne played all 4 games and hit 0.161 on 31 attacks (not good, but that is here first major playing time). losing 25-16 in the 4th set. yuck.

Winless 'Cats beat the undefeated (in conference play) 'Hawks. Sweet, although I'm pretty disappointed overall.
